Their lunch specials have a wide range of choices for main courses and comes with a herbal soup, vegetables & a big beer mug of Chinese tea! Pretty good deal for RM17.90. And they are delicious too!

I love soup especially the Chinese kind of soup, so my parents brought me to the Soup Restaurant at Jaya Shopping Centre to have dinner over the weekend. The restaurant is located on the 3rd Floor of Jaya Shopping Centre, along the row as a Thai and Ramen restaurant. The place is very nice and quiet, and I like the wooden interior that looks very Chinese. Since there were only 3 of us, we ordered a soup, a vegetable and a meat dish. The traditional boiled soup was not too bad but the portion was really small. The Minced Meat with Dried Cabbage was a disappointing dish. Though the meat was tender but we couldn’t taste the dried cabbage at all. It felt like minced meat instead of minced meat with dried cabbage. Same as the soup, the portion of the minced meat was really small too. I was starting to wonder if the dishes at Soup Restaurant were meant to be shared. Our bill came to be quite expensive too. I could have had better Chinese food elsewhere with cheaper price, and don’t think I’ll be revisiting the restaurant again.

Soup Restaurant serves a variety of Chinese food for you to enjoy. They have lots of good food like the minced pork with salted egg yolk, however, I really liked the Hometown steamed tofu, which was very big and fried to perfection. Also, the price was RM14 and was worth it.

Looking for a place to have Chinese reunion? i love coming to this place because of the awesome ginger chicken and double — boiled soup. This place is perfect for family gathering and nicely decorated with chinese artwork. You are being escorted by the waiter to go to your seat and first thing you order is Samsui Ginger Chicken(RM39.90/RM75.90) This unique Chinatown cuisine is Soup Restaurant’s heritage treasure and is prepared in the same traditional way as the Samsui Lady did in the olden days. Due to their poverty state, they can only afford to have the Samsui Ginger Chicken once a year, during the Chinese New Year. Chicken is usually steamed without any seasoning, and dipped into ginger sauce prior to consumption. The texture of the chicken served beautifully like its been perfectly steamed and topping up with ginger made the chicken even more fragrant to eat. Aside from their bestselling chicken, they also have Double-Boiled Waisan & Ginseng Roots with Chicken Soup(RM17.90), Double-Boiled Dried Scallop with Black Chicken Soup(RM23.90), Double-Boiled Tien Chee with Chicken(RM19.90). Traditional Boiled Soup of the Day(RM9.90 — 1pax; RM22.90 — 2 to 4 pax; RM39.90 — 5 pax & above). Opening Hours– 10am to 10om Branches — One Utama, SIngapore
