If ever you ever happen to find yourself out before the sun is up, and you’re wondering where to go to get some drinks and food, well look no further. I was up at 6am to go for yoga class which didn’t pan out, and as such I was in the same dilemma. Luckily we passed by section 14 to see that McDonalds and Hai Keng was open. We promptly decided on Hai Keng. At that hour you can see some of the hawkers still setting up shop but if you ask, some of them might be able to serve you. Which is what I did. You’ll be able to get your drink order from the waiters eager to get it from you. However, our drinks came extremely sweet so if that is not your thing, I suggest you ask for less sweet. As you can aspect from hawker restaurants food is cheap and yummy. I had the Fish Head Noodles which hit the spot and warmed me up. I have heard good things about the Chee Chiong Fan. And it is true. You can have it by itself or with Yong Tau Foo. So drop by this place in the morning to avoid the lunch crowd and enjoy a cup of coffee and a warm meal.
