Porridge Time @ One Utama

Porridge is something that is comforting and warrants a craving once in awhile and there was such a time that I needed something that was light and not heavy on the stomach yet nutritous so porridge it was!
Porridge sells exactly what you see on the signage and they have a variety of them from fish, chicken, frog and so on. Frog porridge was an interesting item on the menu and my adventurous friend just had to try it. Suffice to say it was average, served ina claypot with lots of spring onions on top. While the prorridge was smooth and not watery, the taste leaves little to be desired. I wasn;t much a fan of itand ended up adding soy sauce to it. The fish porridge fared a little better with sliced ginger and spring onions. The fish tasted fresh but again, it was bland, well nothing a little soy sauce couldn’t fix.
They also serve noodles with minced meat and vegetables and they looked pretty good from what I see at another table. So you can always have porridge or noodles to share when you visit. Overall not the best experience but decent if porridge is all you are craving for.

It was a weekday when I decided to step into this shop to try out their porridge after seeing so many people were eating in this shop. I ordered 2 pork intestines porridge and 1 chicken with salted egg porridge. I find that it was kind of kind of watery and tasteless. It doesn’t taste as good as another branch in Tropicana City Mall. I had to add some soy sauce to finish it all with my friends. I was quite disappointed with it. Not just it taste different, but also the portion is much smaller with increased price. Besides that, there are limited space and sits. Hence, you have to wait for others to finish, before you can sit down and order. As for their service, I’ll say it’s acceptable. Overall, I still find other branch at Tropicana City Mall better and nicer. The main thing is I still don’t really understand why is it still so crowded and preferred by most of the customers. I will encourage those who love porridge to visit Porridge Time at Tropicana City Mall instead of here. Oh and maybe you should also visit it at Sunway Pyramid too! Enjoy!
