I used to come to Ikea very often for work purposes and my routine is to arrive in the morning, list down all the things I want, head to the restaurant/café for lunch, then to the warehouse to pick up the stuff. So coming here has become a habit of sorts. What I love about Ikea’s restaurant is that they tend to come up with seasonal dishes befitting of the upcoming festive season, instead of just the same old things daily. I have had turkey drumsticks near Christmas, lamb biryani for Diwali etc etc. So apart from the meatballs(which used to taste a lot better), I do look forward to see what new dishes are on the menu. As it is nearing CNY, the current seasonal offering is lotus leaf rice(not bad but a bit expensive) and spring chicken(I say, go for the chicken wings instead). They also serve nasi lemak for breakfasts and bread, fried spring rolls, danishes etc. Overall, pricing is cheap, queues are long(during peak hours) so it’s still a very popular restaurant that has survived the test of time. I only wish people would get on with the clearing your own tray culture.

I used to LOVE their meatballs last time. But I would say the taste is not as good as last time anymore. As usual the queue is always there. I really wished the food was like it used to be. Prices here are pretty cheap though.

4-stars, for my love for Sweden was ignited by ikea then my love for ikea deepened after I finally visited Sweden. There’s definitely some magic going on at this restaurant/canteen as their food is honestly in my opinion, not overwhelming, but the queue is always there! In fact, while they serve some foods which you will see when you’re in Sweden, they are not entirely the same either. And, actually the taste could vary quite a bit for some of the food, like one of my favorite Swedish food open face shrimp sandwich. But, I still come back here pretty often. All for one thing, how not to love ikea when you’re already loving it? However, I’m not giving 5-stars here. After all, they do serve cold food and you’d need to microwave them. And honestly, foods aren’t as nice when you need to microwave them. The craziness of the crowd here is needless to say, so you should really come during non-peak hours if you aren’t someone who could handle crowd too well. Oh yea, be ready for some baby screams too as ikea is a very family-friendly place! They even have a kids area in the middle of this restaurant ;)

Come for the furniture, stay for the meatballs. Just avoid any of the peak hours here, because you will absolutely NOT get a table without hovering awkwardly around diners waiting for them to finish. Bizarrely enough, going to IKEA is more than just a pilgrimage for those who live outside West KL — it’s a rite of passage.

Great food at reasonable price, but you’ll end up queuing for hours and looking for a table. I love the signsture beef meatballs. They were delicious and the lingonberry jam is a must-have add-on. The jam tastes lovely which similar to raspberry jam, but less sweeter. Overall good choice if you don’t mind the crowds that are regularly found at IKEA restaurant!

Is it just me or the size of the meat balls have gone smaller over the years? Well i definitely feel that it has and boooo for that! I hate it when a place compromises on the quality or servings, it is definitely a big no no and sadly IKEA has fallen into that category. Sigh. But nonetheless their meatballs are still pretty good. Dear IKEA, please have bigger meatballs!

It was the day after the GST implementation, and we were looking for a cheap but hardy meal for dinner, we were at the Curve at the time. So we decided to walk across to Ikano and get some meatballs for dinner. Usually the place is always packed this time we went early before 7pm, before the dinner crowd so there plenty of empty tables to choose from. We grabbed a trolley and a couple of trays and head for the food. I always like the way the Ikea food court function, it’s very organized you have to line up to order pick and order your food. So far I’ve never encountered any line-cutting whenever I come here even if the place is packed. We got the 15 pieces of meatballs, one plate of vegetarian pasta, one cup of soup, a plate of chicken wings and one soft drink. The total came up to less than RM45(with GST), it a great deal considering the amount of food we ordered. The food was good as always, but the mushroom soup was a real surprise, it wasn’t too watery and it didn’t taste starchy at all. It was an extremely good meal.

Tonight was movie night at the curve, so my friends and I decided to have dinner in Ikea. It’s been so long since I’ve been here. Ikea is famous for their meatballs. But they also serve other types of food like mashed potatoes, garlic bread, broccoli, mushroom soup, muffins, pasta chicken wings and lots more! Drinks are refillable too! Just like it’s furnitures, the concept of this restaurant is also DIY. You start by placing your trays on the trolley and queuing up to get the grub of your choice. I’m surprised that the prices are pretty reasonable. I mean, it’s not dirt cheap but it’s definitely not steep!

Never heard of Ikea meatballs? Don’t tell me you are from KL or PJ! This place is the bomb! No kidding! Even on weekdays! I don’t have the slightest clue about the reason for this place to be so occupied during weekdays as well. You mean you guys drive from your working place to Ikea to have lunch? That’s wow! Unfortunately for me, though Ikea is only less than 5 km from the place I work, I will not be able to do it as my lunch break is only 1 hour and my supervisor is pretty particular about coming in late after lunch so yeah. Trust me, if I’m able to drive to Ikea to have meatballs, I will do it, ANYDAY and at ANYTIME! Okay, back to this awesome Ikea restaurant! The whole idea started in Sweden(that explains why they stick the Sweden flag on the meatballs). It’s beef so if you can’t consume beef, don’t be fret as there are many other choices in the menu such as pasta, chicken, salmon, salad, mushroom soup and more. On top of that, there are ample parking spaces and the parking fees are cheap! It’s even better if you purchase stuffs from Ikea, and you’ll get a certain discount on the parking. It’s good if you apply for the Ikea Family card as you’ll get a free cup of coffee upon any purchase in the restaurant. Get prepared to be amazed by the crowd as you’ll need to queue up pretty long to get the food on your tray but other than that it’s fine. Honestly speaking, the meatballs were a lot delicious back then(about 2 years). The taste is not as delicious as before, but if you’re new to this restaurant then it should be fine for you(I guess I have set some standards for this restaurant). Most importantly, request for more sauce! Price wise, it is worth the money. So yeah, head to Ikea today and you won’t regret!

Is it weird that the first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions IKEA is ‘MEATBALLS!’? Traditionally your one stop for all furnitures, IKEA is typically equipped with their own restaurant featuring Swedish staples like the aforementioned meatballs. Sticking to what they know best, IKEA all over the world has the same cafeteria design furnished with their own products. Pretty smart way for them to showcase their furniture in its elements I must say. It used to be that the restaurant was a resting place for customers after a tiring day of shopping, but now I see more and more people going there just to have the meatballs. I have some mixed feelings about that. It is pretty much mayhem on weekends where the restaurant is a go to place for large families with young children. This could be attributed to the fact that it is very child friendly, with playrooms and children menu on display. Whatever the case, like a school canteen, it is loud and extremely messy. It is a world of difference from the IKEA overseas unfortunately and I was in for a rude shock. If I can, I try to restrict my IKEA visits to weekdays where I can properly enjoy their meatballs with creamy gravy and generous lingonberry sauce.

Cheap quick meals! Who eats food made by a furniture company? I do! Ikea’s restaurant has some of the best value meals around town. Their meatballs served with gravy and fruit sauce is one of the more popular items on their menu. Each time I visit them, they always have something new on the menu. The last time I went, they were serving roasted chicken(whole) for RM15.00! That was a steal. I think the best part about the restaurant is the free flow of soft drinks.

Loving their meatballs! I will visit their once in a while with my boyfriend, although there is lotsa people and long queue for you to get your food, for me, 100% worth it! especially I will order their mushroom soups, meatballs and fried chicken wings! for me the price is alright, not too expensive, but then the crowd make me so hard to look for a seat, but it proves that they are famous for certain reason, typing my review has made me hungry and crave for meatballs again :)

A good place to relax after shopping at Ikea and I just like pushing a trolley card to get my food. That’s it, that’s the nice part of it. The food though… affordable and cheap with good variety, including healthy salad and also sandwiches. No worries you can get yourself some fries and meatball as well. The food quality is rather meehhhh but that’s what you’ll get with the price you’re paying for it. To sum it up, it’s a quirky food court with good experience to buy food. However, it’s still a food court hence a basic meal is still good to have, but don’t expect the meat balls to be all that great.

Swedish meatballs never tasted this good. I love coming here but off peak hours on weekends. On weekends this place is crazy packed. Anyway another great think about their cafeteria is the double tiered pushcarts, which has fascinated me since I was a kid. Apart from their famous meatballs, i recommend heir Gravad lax sandwhiches, ideal for those who like fresh raw salmon. Their cakes and muffins are really delicious and the whole meal is served up in an instant with minimal waiting time. Also this is a great place to sample some of IKEA’s in house cutlery, plates and bowls which are used in serving.

Who can never says no to Sweden meatballs and salmon fish from a reasonable price. After a day of shopping for a house, looking at some furniture’s and decorations, my partner and i finally came to the end of our shopping and we wanted to eat! This restaurant is always always pack and crowded with families especially during the weekend, try to come here weekdays. You can order the famous meatball, salmon, chicken and muffins and chicken wings and many more.

«Hey, you up for meatballs?» «Yeah sure, where?» «Where else man? Ikea la.» Thats the basic conversation of how I end up having my lunch in Ikea. I only have 2 things to do in Ikea, let my inner interior designer self take over, or meatballs. I mean, they kinda made a name for themselves when it comes to meatballs. The meatballs here are delicious, especially with the sauce and jam combination. Its really something you don’t see elsewhere. They also have other stuff in the menu like Roasted Chicken and Grill Salmon. I’ve had both and was not disappointed despite hearing how often people say that the only thing good here is the meatballs.

Since I am meatball lovers, IKEA’s Swedish Meatball is my all-time favorite. The meatball is very chewy and tasty. The combination of meatball and its cream sauce with mashed potato and strawberry jam complete the taste. Besides the famous meatball, IKEA restaurant also have one more famous menu; Beef ribs. I am not a fan of any ribs. Unexpectedly, I fall in love with their beef ribs. Even though. The ribs have no gravy but the taste quite impressive beside the fries make the dish looks so tempting. The cost for Swedish meatball is RM10/10 pcs while for beef ribs it cost around RM20+ Also, stop by at the Bistro, try their Vanilla ice cream and also curry puff. There will be a long queue since the curry puff is big, tasty and cheap !
