A must try in publika! The set lunch is value for money(19.90 nett) and it comes with a side dish and the main course. Highly recommend the buffalo wings and their selection of cakes! The service might not be as great but the food makes up for it!

Not spectacular by any means — you’ll find a much nicer, much hipper, and much more affordable evening at other places… Even in Publika! Still, you have to give The Social credit for managing to still bring in the crowds every night, despite the noise and rowdy groups of international school teenagers far too young to be drinking. For a good time, though, I’d easily recommend The Bee or Barfly instead.

This Social has really good service! Way better than their crappy Bangsar Branch. However, I find it really funny that I’ve asked for salt and pepper and they gave me pepper but they couldn’t find the salt, and the waiter that serve me did not come back and let us know causing us to wait and wonder where is our requested salt. Saying that, I appreciated the manager’s attitude in taking care of our table. Exceedingly well mannered. If I’m not mistaken, he ended up borrowing some salt from the restaurant next door. Which I find it a great effort in trying to satisfy a customer’s need. It must been at least a little embarrassing to be a restaurant borrowing salt from another. Kudos Social, Publika!

Socials has been around the bar scene in Kl for more than 10 years with their first outlet in the famous telawi street in Bangsar. Ever since then they have opened 2 new outlets, one in Publika square & the other in Desa park city. Since I frequent the outlet in Bangsar pretty often which I must say serves tasty varieties, I decided to give Publika a try assuming the outlets would be very much similar. To my dismay it was a complete let down. Everything from their service to the food was disappointing on this particular night. Walking in the packed restaurant & bar, I approached one of the waiters at the entrance for a table, needless to say he walked right pass me twice without acknowledging. It was until the floor manager noticed & offered us a table in the al fresco seating area. When it was time to order, It took us almost 10 minutes to get the waiters attention who then delayed our food for sometime as he forgot to key in our order! When our food arrived, I thought finally right, however to my disappointment after a first bite into my fried rice, I realised it was tasteless! They literally forgot the salt! My husband had fried noodles which was really nothing to rave about. The only thing which tasted normal was the garlic ciabatta, how can can you go with that? So there you have it, a pure nightmare in a place I least expected. I think I would definitely stick to Bangsar for now…

Some of friends and I came here for some drinks one night, it was the my first time here. Not the most sociable person and not really into alcohol too, I was finding myself in a little awkward situation to be in. What do you expect on a Friday night? A lot of people having meals and drinks to enjoy their night away after a long week of work. For personally, I’d rather be in a little café, with a cuppa while reading a book. But nonetheless, The Social was rather decent, though the noise level was pretty high, at least I could have conversations with my friends. I was surprised that I was feeling quite comfortable, though being in an environment I am not too familiar at. It was a good experience and catch up with them.

The Social has been one of the go-to places for Mont Kiara residence for awhile now. I noticed the crowd on the weekends can get pretty crazy and overtime I pass by there would be the illuminating smell of wine and beer. The amount of people that crowd the place is pretty insane so I decided to give it a try. The food is not as good as I thought it could be. The price for the food is pretty alright. They serve italian food mainly, like pasta and such. I wouldn’t think it’s that great to be honest. Their alcohol selection is decent but I think you could get better deals in bars. I think the dessert is pretty good out of everything in the menu, I would suggest giving the cakes a try. A meal here would cost about 50rm depending if you want the meal with drinks or not. I think people mainly dine at the Social because of the ambience it perceives. The Social is a pretty nice place for a catch up or even a date because of the décor and ambience it creates with the type of customers to the drinks they serve. The music can get pretty loungy as well which allows customers to stay a little longer.

Words cannot simply explain my love for The Social @ Publika. It is a must go for a good meal + cold beers on a Sunday afternoon. Located at the Publika Square its breezy, cozy and great for people watching :) I had Chicken Diane and my friend had the Beefy Burger both absolutely delicioussss !!! Today was extra fun as it was the F1 fever which was playing on the the telly! Loads of crazy and fun groups of people getting all excited about the race. Service can be a little slow but its alright as it does get really crowded. Other than the service The Social at Publika never disappoints!

I’ve been to The Social before in Bangsar and it was great atmosphere, but food was ok. In Publika on the other hand both: the food and the atmosphere are just brilliant! Me and my friend were very lucky, because at the same time there was a concert in the main area, so we could enjoy your delicious food with beautiful music. I’ve tried out a lot of their dishes and one that really stands out is their SALMON! It just melts in your mouth and broccoli seasoning is magnificent. One specificity of this restaurant is that they show how many calories most of the dishes have, so it is a really good place for those who are watching their weight. I wouldn’t recommend their stake skewer plate, it was a little disappointing. A ot of rice and the meat wasn’t that great. Accompany your food with a jug of their signature cocktail! YUMMMY!

Always packed and most of the time you have to queue, this place got my friends and I in an intrigued position as we passed it everytime we are in Publika. Then, came that one day where curiosity killed us. I do like the ambience inside, kinda reminds me like we are in a club. Its kinda dark, cozy and loud even though you are in the bar. There were several items on the menu which I wanted to try but my first visit there I gave the beef burger a try. It took awhile for our dishes to arrive. When it did, it was hot, smells good and presented nicely. My burger was good, my friend enjoyed his macaroni cheese and chicken sandwhich. For desserts, we gave the banana split a try. Since it was my first time actually trying one, it tastes so good. and the portion is kinda big, so if you guys want to order that, be sure to share!

Social is a popular hangout spot for adults in the evening. I’m not sure about the food but I’ve been here occasionally to have a glass of wine and talk all night long. By talk, I mean shout. This place gets pretty busy at night, especially on weekends. As such the noise level is almost headache inducing. It is better to sit outside where it isn’t as bad. Having only had wines here, I have to say that the selection is not too bad. unfortunately the waiters do not have much to say about the wines and kept pushing us to the current drinks promotions which I found mildly irritating. But this place has a good atmosphere and prices are reasonable, which explains the crowd.

The secret to The Social’s success lies in a few key points. Affordable drinks, sumptuous food and bubbly atmosphere. The place attracts everyone from family with kids, group of friends to couples. We especially love the Aromatic Crispy Duck. This popular restro-bar is usually packed with people on Friday and Saturday evening. Reservations are definitely required if you are coming on these days.

The place it’s a good combination between food, drinks and games. Its a good place to hangout with your friends, in specially in afternoons or weekends. If you like drinking beer, you have to pass by this place when they have the«happy hour» offer from Tiger, Guinness and Kilkenny to Heineken, Strongbow and Paulaner. Appetizers are good, but you have to be aware of how many drinks you order if you are with a big group, because they may add more number of drinks that you actually orders. This happened to some friends of mine.

The concept of The social in Publika, like the social in Bangsar Telawi is also a very laid back, sports-bar type of establishments. The difference between the two is that the one in Bangsar focuses more on the ‘Sports’ element than the one in Publika which focuses more on the social gathering element. I made this distinct overview based on the space allocated to enjoying sports on the big screen monitor and the amount of monitors that were present. They have fewer monitors in the Publika outlet as they do in the Bangsar outlet. I personally don’t prefer to go to Publika unless there is a meeting or if a friend insists on getting that«One absolutely gorgeous dress at that one particular boutique in Publika», mainly because of the basement parking problem which often finds me valet parking my vehicle at the front entrance most of the time. I’m more of a ‘park-your-car-by-the-roadside-and-take-three-steps-before-sitting-down’ type of guy, you know, like most Malaysians. Hence as to why I prefer The Social in Bangsar. The toilets are placed inside the shopping complex so if you have the urge to go, you’re going to have to walk a little to get to your preferred destination. So if you have to go to the toilets, please don’t wait till the last minute, I would recommend planning ahead. However, the prices of the drinks are reasonable and the food quality is also quite good. If you enjoy hanging out and being seen by huge crowds, this is the place for you! Although it’s bigger than the outlet in Bangsar, it’s almost impossible to get a seat after 6 or 7 once the dinner crowd starts rushing in, I suggest you come earlier and mark your piece of paradise first.
