This place never fails to offer the best recipe’s in town. I always enjoy going to Miss Kwan with friends weather in BSC or KLCC. it’s always enjoyable local food well served with awesome drinks. It’s funny how I still would get my order while my friends wait though. This is something that always happen in KL not only at this place. I hope they figure out a system to really start managing this better, and to wait till they serve the table all at once instead of partially.

There was a queue outside Madam Kwan and since I was tight on time, I headed opposite to Miss Kwan instead. The outlet’s concept is an express version of Madam Kwan especially for those looking for a quick lunch. I was surprised to see some signature dishes from Madam Kwan on the menu such as the nasi bojari and nasi lemak. Unfortunately you would think a place like Miss Kwan would offer meals at lower prices but the price was still the same as Madam Kwan. Meals are mostly RM20 and above which I found to be quite expensive for an express meal outlet. Only good thing is you don’t have to pay for service charge as it is self service. I opted for the asam prawn rice but was disappointed because it only came with 4 pieces of small prawns on a large bed of onion asam sambal. I wouldn’t really bother with Miss Kwan next time and head straight to Madam Kwan instead.

Madam Kwan was one of the famous restaurants that offers Malaysian Local Cuisines and one of it will be our famous nasi lemak. Since they became well known, they had then expanded Miss Kwan as their«fast food chain», offering a quick pay and eat as you go rather than have a proper sit down. I was there once with a friend during lunch hour(which is usually a peak time) and it was full as usual but we managed to get ourselves seated at a nice corner. Menu was limited and not cheap too. You will be expected to pay at least RM20 for a decent lunch(may or may not include your drinks). To me, Man! That’s quite expensive for a lunch! I had their rendang nasi lemak and the taste wasn’t as good comparing to Madam Kwan — disappointing! What I can say is that make this place a second choice only if Madam Kwan is full.

Miss Kwan’s is a mini version of Madam Kwan’s and it serves different food from Madam Kwan’s. The food in Miss Kwan’s isn’t as nice as they don’t have the signature fried chicken and rice. Miss Kwan’s serves the normal Malaysian delights, such as nasi lemak, sambal prawn rice and so on. The price is cheap, but the food doesn’t stand out.
