Johnny’s is a chain of steamboat restaurants and this outlet is in the AEON Mall in Setiawangsa. It’s located on the far left side of the main concourse entrance, next to Tutti Frutti. This particular branch is always packed at lunch and dinner especially on the weekends. During Ramadan the only way you can eat here is by making a reservation and paying a deposit of RM50. Being a steamboat restaurant, Johnny’s has a wide variety of meat, fish, veggies and noodles to choose from for your steamboat. If you’re lazy or you can’t decide, they also have set menus. And if you feel like you want fried rice or noodle dishes, they have that too. I find their Ginger Fried Rice to be quite good. Honestly though, for me Johnny’s is average only. The thing that makes me go back is their spicy cili dipping sauce. That’s the only reason my husband and I come here instead of other steamboat places. Plus this branch is close enough to our home so it’s not too much of a drive when we are craving some steamboat. In terms of service, they are good. The staff are efficient and attentive. The cleanliness level is OK, but during peak times and periods like Ramadan, then it can slack off a bit. There is both indoor and outdoor seating but the indoor section is small and there’s only about 5 – 6 tables.
