Another Japanese option in Bangsar is Ippudo but its slightly different than others of its kind. As a lot of the comments say this place is known for its ramen but the menu its slightly different than the other locations you can find around KL. The owner of the restaurant has often dubbed the Ramen King and believes that«Ramen is, indeed, cosmos served in a bowl.» They offer quite a great lunch menu and the location is quite popular amongst locals. The cost is fairly average and the staff is very pleasant and attentive. Through their dishes you can find pork buns, gyoza, kushiyaki, sushi and more. My favourite is fried shrimp roll with spicy mayo and the spicy pork taco.

Came here with colleagues for lunch just a few days ago and we we given a private room to dine in. It was a cosy environment for the 8 of us. The ambience was modern and stylish but the service was alright. The waitress that served us wasn’t very good with explaining the menu to us and there was a lot of going back and forth before we managed to decide what we wanted. I had the lunch set A which consisted of a steamed pork bun, spicy ramen, cabbage in a special sauce as a side dish and a dessert. Oh and it was supposed to come with a drink but they’d forgotten that and I had to ask them twice for it before it was brought out. Ramen was quite pathetic — only had a small Slice of pork fat in the entire bowl but I loved the steamed pork bun and should have ordered the ramen as an individual main instead(note that the bowl of ramen is half the usual serving size if you order it in a set). My colleague had the passionfruit smoothie which was good. We also shared a plate of wontons which were tiny pieces not worth the price tag in my opinion. Overall I like the ambience in this restaurant however the food is overpriced for what it is and I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon again.

Ippudo at BSC is engineered to be different than the rest of the branches like Gardens and Pavilion. It’s more of a watering hole than just a ramen restaurant to cater to the demographics of BSC. Their menu is also evidently different than the one in Gardens. Their bartender was really attentive and constantly checking in on us. Service wise it was awesome. I was excited to try out their dessert since normally i have no room for them after a giant bowl of their ramen. I was abit skeptical as to why their dessert was so affordable until i saw the size of it. Then it makes sense. It was 2 tiny scoops of ice cream and tiny biscuit waffle wedged between it. Flavour was okay, presentation was beautiful — but i’m not sure if the dessert was made for adults or children. If you want a chill out or hangout environment with good ramen this is the place to be at. They also have happy hour promotions which entails: Purchase any draft or bottled beer at only RM22+ or — Purchase any 3 draft or bottled beer at only RM60+ — Promotion starts from 11AM — to 8PM And check out their full range of Japanese Alcohol too!

Whenever I hear«Japanese food» I think of sushi or sashimi. Which makes sense since I love both. nIt wasn’t until recently that I found out about Ramen. This restaurant specializes in just that. Their menu offers different types of Ramen and a few other delicacies such as pork buns. Unfortunately for me I went after lunch time and missed out on their lunch menu, which is quite a good deal. Ever since I’ve tried the noodles at this place, I’ve been disappointed at the ones I’ve tried anywhere else. If you are a fan of Ramen I recommend stopping by this restaurant.

I was very lucky to go to Ippudo with my Japanese friend, because there is some history to this place and I got to learn about it! I will just tell you that the founder of this restaurant is known as Ramen King in Japan and that you MUST try their signature dish — creamy broth. That is something really popular during ramen fasting times. You can find 3 outlets of this yummy restaurant in Kuala Lumpur and I can say that I prefer the one in BSC much more to the one in Mid Valley. First of all I like my options and I can choose whether I want to eat inside or outside. Second in BSC their outside seatings are just gorgeous! Such an amazing atmosphere ! Enjoy.)

Before I first visited Ippudo, I was sceptical because the ramen here is more expensive than any other ramen shop. But I love ramen, and I will do anything for ramen. Busted my bank I did. And boy was it good. The signature ramen was creamy, rich and those noodles(which I like to order hard) were amazing. I also like the Momofuku-style pork bun which comes with a sweet hoisin sauce. The difference between Ippudo and many other ramen places is that it’s more modern and stylish. So you won’t feel stuffy and hot while sipping noodles, and they even have cocktails if you do.

Ippudo Ramen opened about a year ago and I remember lining up in those crazy lines to get a table when they first launched. Well worth I say. There are three types of ramen broth to choose from and my personal favourite is the original Tonkotsu, coupled with the hard ramen as is recommended by the servers. The best time to come would be during lunch when they have their combo set which is RM29.90+ for 1 ramen, a side dish or dessert and a glass of green tea. More than worth it for one person. I would always get the pork buns as well for an added treat. Lunch hours may be packed but the service is usually very quick so don’t pass up on the lunch hour sets if your see a line, that’s the norm usually.

Ippudo at BSC, which is very different to the one at Pavilion, serves exceptionally great tasting ramen. Every single food you order whether it’s the appetiser or the dessert, has a very unique flavour of its own.

When it comes to Japanese food, my favourite has always been their raw food and hardly any of their cooked-dishes. Hence, I wasn’t interested to try out Ippudo even when most of the people I know are going crazy over the ramen. My friends were one of them, so there’s no way I could avoid going to the restaurant and I’m glad I said«Yes» to that idea of theirs! Ippudo offers 3 signature ramen to their customers — Classic Shiromaru Ramen(Original broth); Akamaru Ramen(Miso paste and garlic oil); and Karakamen Ramen(Spicy miso paste). Even if your heat tolerance is low, the Karakamen Ramen would be totally«harmless». You don’t really taste any spiciness in it but only the extra flavours that came from the miso paste. Apart from the different types of broth, you can choose the hardness of your noodles too: soft, normal, hard, very hard. One special factor about the Ippudo BSC is the outdoor dining/bar concept. They have a full-range bar offering cocktails, whisky, sake, and wine. A perfect place to unwind with friends over a nice meal after a hard dark at work or end of the week.
