I am in love with ipoh kitchen! Chinese food is always on top of my all time favourite food and ipoh kitchen has never failed to deliver! They have a lot variation of good food, such as: butter prawn, dry curry leaves chicken, their binjal, so many! Even their ipoh hor fun noodle is really tasty! I came here quite often, especially when I need good food and the weather is not pleasing(too hot) outside. Though I kind of feel that they have pretty similar menu like sin lai ping, and more expensive in terms of their food, but still I wouldn’t mind(sometimes) when I’m looking for a nice looking place to eat and when I want to get away from the sun or rain. Their service is pretty good as well, the lady who seems to own the place seems pretty nice and are always around to make sure everything is okay. I’ve brought few of my friends here and they are loving this place as well, going to keep coming back here for more Chinese food fiesta.

Used to studied in Kampar last time and it’s memorable to travel with some friends to Ipoh every weekend to hunt for good foods. Ipoh Old Town that located at Taman Lucky, Kuala Lumpur is very close to what I had in Ipoh. Love their clear soup hor fun the most because they are using the thin type of hor fun as noodle. So, it’s smooth and silky to have it with the soup. Other than that, they have offer different variety of foods from Nasi Lemak to homemade toufu to locals desserts. Their homemade toufu is crunchy on its skin and soft inside. Another favorite here that worth to try is their Butter Yee Mee with prawns. It’s taste a bit different here because instead of sweet or salty buttery taste, they apply chili on it. Hence, it’s taste spicy buttery. Never thought chili plus butter can make a perfect combination too. Overall foods and service are satisfied but the price is quite pricey. Maybe next time I should order more dishes with rice that can be share instead of ordering ala carte cuisine.

Malay food gets interesting when you try it at Ipoh Old Town. I like to think it’s the traditional food from Ipoh city. It’s a beautiful city, one of the largest in Malaysia. Ipoh is very famous for it’s cuisine. This restaurant has a touch from this amazing city’s cuisine. You can try Malay, Chinese and Indian food all mixed up together. Nasi Kandar is one amazing dish you must try! The staff are very nice, with little english so stick to the menu :) the food is a must try if you visit KL but don’t get a chance to see Ipoh.

My friend from Ipoh was getting homesick one day and so brought me to this place. The name says it all, typical food that you can get in Ipoh, served here. I’m always sceptical about places like this, I only believe Ipoh food are only good in Ipoh, likewise for other places. That being said, the food here got me into a mixed feeling. The Salted Egg Fried Rice I orderd was nice, although the rice to egg ratio was way too much. But, the dish my friend ordered, was way too salty, makes you wanna scratch your tongue off. The deserts here were way too expensive too! I mean, the cendol doesn’t even taste like cendol. I would come back here for certain dishes, but overall, not my place.
