This restaurant although calling itself a German restaurant is slightly lacking in traditional German food. So if you are from Germany and want some tastes of home don’t expect too much. Beer is good though… and seen as though happy hour is pretty much from open to close, can not complain.

If you love beer and are craving some western food this place might be the perfect option for you. This is a German themed bar that offers a variety of delicious food including breakfast and snacks, The nice selection of beer for happy hour. This is a nice place to go with friends since it’s a chill yet cool environment but it’s not too loud. Their service is really good but the price is very expensive. Overall I had a great experience there and I recommend it.

Ive always wondered what was so great about this german restaurant, like how good can it be. So to answer my very own question I popped by the mid valley outlet to give it a try. Good golly, the pork knuckle roast was simply an instant win. It is marinated well & its texture is absolutely tender. With its range of fresh draft german beers, its no wonder why this place is a favorite for the after-work crowd. Known for their tea time snacks & happy hour promo, who would want ti miss out on this! To end it all I had a rather weird but delicious dessert, the classic chocolate lava cake with choc coated bacon! This sounded nasty but surprisingly it tasted really good. S now i clearly know what all the fuss was about!

Beer and sausages come hand in hand especially for Germans. It’s practically their staple food everyday. The atmosphere at Brotzeit is Mid Valley is perfect for drinks with friends or dinner with family. Either way, the place is usually packed with office folks looking to unwind after a long day. Brotzeit’s menu offers a selection of sausages including pork served with a side of red cabbage and their famous pork knuckle which is best shared among two people. A wide variety of German beers such as Paulaner and Weissbeer on tap are also available so do look out for their happy hour promotions. Portions are quite decent but be prepared to pay above RM20 for a meal alone.

Because of working nearby, I used to come here for happy hours with my colleagues. Brotzeit is a place where you can grab authentic German foods with chill Paulaner beers! So, happy hour then dinner and continue with happy hour till late night! We usually order German Pork Platter or German sausage platter to share. The portion is quite big so please share unless you are starving. It’s usually getting crowded on the evening till late night. Everyone will getting happier(high) and the volume of noises increase, so it’s merrier! A call for reservation is advisable if you’re coming in big group but they only hold your reservation till 7p. m if not mistaken. Foods serve very fast and staffs are friendly. The only downside here is their restroom is very limited, you might need to wait very long if it’s crowded or you might need to walk into the mall if is urgent.

Now im a huge fan of beer and there is one country in the world that is known for its beer and that is Germany. This adorable little beer bar and restaurant was the latest one that opened some point last year. I’ve only ever visited this place once and ill tell you why in a bit. Brotzeit literally means ‘packed lunch’ in Germany so its only natural that one would also come here for the garb and not necessarily have it to go. Now as promised, ill tell you why I’ve only ever been here once, it is located right beside a Pondok Polis. I know that that makes most of us feel safer but you don’t exactly want to come wobbling out of a German Beer bar and pass by a Police office now do you? The interior of the place is a dead ringer of our typical kopitiam. Well actually a cross between a koptiam and a cafeteria. The way the booths are arranged, the small table and stools running along across the restaurant and also the color scheme the designer chose for the furniture and fixtures which is a rich, deep dark brown. Ding ding ding! Yes that’s exactly what a small kedai kopi would look like. What makes it different is that instead of coffee that comes off of the counter, its beer. Which I think is quite a neat concept. The beer is undoubtedly fresh and delicious although I didn’t try any of the food, as this place is non-halal. I’ve got to draw the line there somewhere.

I had the opportunity to dine in at Brotzeit when I was having my internship. My colleagues wanted to have a meal together after work and we thought this is a great place to feed more than 15 of us. This was also my first time at a German bar. We ordered the legendary Pork platter. It was one of the greatest day of my life being a carnivore. The pork platter(RM325) includes Schweinshaxn(roasted pork knuckle), Schweinbraten(tender pork roast in gravy), Bockwurst(smoked pork sausages), Numberger Wurstchen(grilled pork sausages), Bauchspeck(gipsy-style pork belly), Leberkase(pork meat loaf), Sauerkraut(braised German cabbage), and Kartoffelsalat(potato salad). This is the place to go if you are a meat lover like me. The pork knuckle was extremely crispy on the outside and once cut open, the flesh was moist and flavorful. The melt-in-the-mouth fat was so good I can’t stop myself from cutting more into my plate. While the meat well marinated, I had no idea how they still able to preserve that awesomely crispy skin. All the sausages were scrumptious, it was not like those frozen gourmet sausage. This is a real sausage with real meat. Beside the awesome meat, I love the Braised German Cabbage. The mild sweet and sour and the crunchy texture of the cabbage act as the perfect balance agent between the greasiness from the meat. If you are looking into trying out a variety of gourmet sausages and pork on a plate, this would be a perfect choice. The service was speedy and friendly.
