I first went here during my company’s annual year-end party. This bistro bar is tastefully decorated brick and barrels style! The seating area is quite big and they more have seats upstairs looking down the crowd. There’s a stage for live band performances for the enjoyment of the crowd on certain nights. There’re a ton of drinks available here too — they serve a variety of beers to tickle your fancy. Their menu is extensive with a gastronomic selection of food ranging from asian fusion to typical western meals. I quite enjoy their pizzas. Other than that, food is only OK. A very happening and cheery place, especially good for those Friday nights to unwind after a long week at work.

Brick n barrels is a relatively new bar around the area. They have a pretty huge seating area with a lot of servers around, I wouldn’t say there’s anything to complain about during my time there. There are good promotions and happy hour deals at bricks n barrels. They even have some of their signature drinks. It would cost about 20rm plus for a pint of beer. There are choices for the beer you would want to order and it comes in a promotion. Parking isn’t too bad, there is even valet service right outside of the bar. There are so much food available for order as well and of course, the bar snacks.

I very much like the environment here. Big spacious and the outdoor seating area is a delight to be at. There’s live band at certain nights and you do get pretty good shows! We had a table of 6 and we ordered quite a lot of food to taste and share. The ribs and steaks are our top choice. The staffs are friendly but not too efficient though, we had to wait quite a bit for our food to arrive even when the whole place isn’t full. Price is of course above average but seems reasonable and I would surely come back for the environment and the food!

Brick & Barrels is one of the newer bistros that appeared in Hartamas, and of course, everything here is expensive. Expensively good if you are into that sort of thing. That being said, drinks here are readily available to you, as they offer a variety of alcohol ready to tickle your fancy. They do offer swine-related dishes, and other typical Western food, but it is, as always, the wiser thing to only order the snacks and the alcohol as you waste your money on things you are going to pee and poop out of your internal organs after that. Brick & Barrels do offer a variety of things for you to do and enjoy, so it is an obligation for you to always bring more friends to this joint.

Hartamas area is slowly turning into a hip and urban place to be. It did died down a little while, but with the sudden bloom of more pubs & cafes in the area, the crowd seemed to love it and ta-da! It has indeed became popular with the locals as well as the expats. Bricks & Barrels at Desa Sri Hartamas proved it. It is definitely a great place to chill after work or even on weekends to hang out with a bunch of friends. There are often performances and live bands as well as an extensive list of cocktails. I ordered the fruit tea and I loved it! It tasted really refreshing and good. Although the place can get real loud at times, you are expected to just move along with the music rather than talk. It can get too loud for anyone to hear each other. Other than that, service was not bad but the waiters and waitresses can get real busy during the peak hours. Do also try their refreshing Mojito and Martinis, A great place to chill, drink and have a good time. They also offer food to fill your empty stomach. Parking wise, it can be a tad difficult to find one.

I really feel like this is one of the best Gastrobars in KL because of its food, atmosphere and drinks. Let’s start with the food which is amazing because they have pork everything and they make sure it’s cooked till it’s tender and juicy. Their huge pork platter is a great platter to share with the entire group. They have interesting variety in their drinks as well. For instance, their martinis have flavors like black forest, banana and let’s not forget their chocolate one. But what gets me here every time is their atmosphere. The best place to sit is outdoors because it really is where all the fun is. They have live music and they play football games and the crowd gets really into it, so the vibe there is very enjoyable.

A good old neighbourhood bar, B&B has a very chilled vibe to it. It’s one of those places where you’d be right at home getting a beer in a pair of shorts or having a couple of cocktails all dressed up. Known for their pork dishes, I thought I might mix it up a little and try their Smoked Duck that was on a bed of creamy avocado. It was delicious. Surprisingly they’re cocktails were good considering most neighbourhood bars tend to disappoint in this area.

One of the best Gastropubs in Hartamas. Bricks and Barrels is one of the newer kids on the block that offers great drinking ambience with its one of a kind gastro bar and beer garden. The establishment is decorated with a diverse mix of modern and retro furnishing alongside their brick walls. The ambience here is pretty relaxed, great for rewinding after a long day at work with a pint or two. Apart from their extensive list of beer on tap, their gastronomic menu is equally as impressive. The menu features all sorts of cuisine from Italian to Soul Food, and even a tapas bar. I’d personally recommend the nachos! They’re my favourite. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas which are both really roomy and comfortable.

Bricks and Barrels is one of those places where you go to find your fix of Pork-tastic meals. If you’re sharing with a group of friends or in the mood to simply chow down and devour all pork life single handedly, the pork platter is the way to go with a serving of barbecued pork ribs, roasted pork, pork sausages and roasted pork knuckles at around RM200 if I remember correctly. A variety of sauces also provide some much needed company in easing this monstrous meal down your belly. It was downright amazing. I’d also suggest coming down during happy hour between 4−6pm and toss back a few pints at RM10 each
