Had wonderful dinner, my date suggested I try the local food like nasi istimewa which was delicious. He had hainanese chicken and we started off with soft shell crab on bed of papaya salad. I had delicious watermelon lychee and we finished off with slice of yummy black forest cake and long black. Love the contemporary simple décor, attentive service.

I’ve always enjoyed Ben’s, their menu is what usually entices me to eat here. The selection of pasta here is wonderful. Crispy Duck Conflit Spaghetti, Golden Softshell Crab Spaghetti and even their Pesto Spaghetti is nothing short of tasty. Although this particular Ben’s isn’t really at a location that’s as comforting as the one in Publika. Favourite dish here? That’s got to be the Golden Softshell Crab. I’ve ordered this dish dozens of times, and it hasn’t failed me once. The soft crab, with curry leaves and cili padi will leave you’re tastebuds tingling. If you’re not really a spicy person, have a go at their crispy duck confit spaghetti. It’s relatively simple, just duck with sun-dried tomatoes. But still, it’s pretty damn good. The service here is so much better than Publika’s, i just have to state for the record. My glass of water was constantly being refilled, the waiters were polite and attentive. Even my bill came a minute after i had asked for it. All in all, the location of the restaurant doesn’t really make it easy access. I’d prefer if it was on the ground floor at least. But the food, the ambience and the service is still great. Ben’s is really putting their slogan to heart«To Eat is to Love».

Very fancy restaurant, good place to get together with family and friends. I love the variety of menu choice, from malay delight nasi kerabu to Chinese and western cuisine. The cake dessert also taste good .The ambience is so comfortable, silent with jazzy music. They provide indoor and outdoor dining area, I prefer to stay at outdoor to feel the breezy air and nice KL view.

This branch I must say isn’t one of the favourite outlets of mine from Ben’s. The location is rather strategic as it’s located on the sixth floor of Pavilion Shopping Mall, and they even have an outdoor balcony area which gives you pretty good views and could be quite breezy during the evenings. However, despite of all these plus points and their okay service here, I somehow find that the foods here are not as good as the other branches — of course this by no means means that their food is not good here. I still liked the tortilla wrap that i have ordered here. However, it felt like the preparation of my tortilla wrap wasn’t as delicate as they used to do it in other branches. I suppose this might be due to the massive crowd there were when I was having my dinner there. Anyway, the food is still okay. The ambience here is cozy and lights are usually dim here. You will see long bench on your right once you enter the restaurant so it’s good for group dining, but make sure that you book in advance. The price range here is slightly above average, but provided the environment and choices of quality food that they provide here, I think it’s worth the price. Getting a parking here is pretty easier, apart from the peak hours that you might need to make a few extra rounds in the parking lot to get a space. Overall, good environment, okay food — that I find the other outlets’ better, fair price — great location for catch up sessions and group dinners.

A casual hang out dining spot, Ben’s menu isn’t revolutionary yet it managed to capture the attention of many. Opt for the outdoor seating when weather permits, as the nonchalant ambiance makes it easy for convo between friends and family. Food and drinks are your safe bets. Service can be improved tremendously though.

Not to be confused with Ben’s General Food Store, Ben’s in Pavillion KL is also part of the BIG Group but both have their own unique menus. Personally my favourite would be Ben’s as their menu is more fancy and unique. We popped over there after work to wait out the crazy KL traffic and the place was already packed. That’s probably because they never disappoint. I ordered the Crispy Soft Shell Crab Tortilla and it was bursting with flavour; the crab wasn’t oily like most places and the tortilla wrap wasn’t a soggy mess considering how much of sauces were in it. I could barely finish half of it so sharing is recommender for small eaters. Not a fan of their 4 colour chips as it lacks flavour so the waiter was kind enough to substitute them for french fries. Service here it great considering it was during the peak dinner service. Again, the BIG Group never dissapoints.
