This is my parent’s favorite Korean BBQ spot in Malaysia. The atmosphere and service is awesome especially since they’re on top of everything and it’s super clean. In terms of food(meat), I do feel that it’s not the most flavorful or best Korean BBQ I’ve had, but it is the best in Malaysia specifically. I’ll definitely be back if my parents wanted more Korean BBQ in Kuala Lumpur. *there is wifi and AC here too, YAY*

My kids call this place Doraemon restaurant. Well, as far as they’re concerned, they got a lot of special treats here so they might be correct to name this place so. The service is excellent. Walking in, you’ll see many photos of celebrities who have visited the restaurant, and the staff makes you feel like you’re one of them as well. They were attentive and polite throughout our meal. We were especially thankful for the complimentary non-spicy dishes they served to our kids, including the lollies at the end. The ambiance is nice. Open and spacious. However, to my dismay there is no designated non-smoking section(there were people smoking next to us), and because of that I will probably have to revisit this restaurant without the kids. The food is satisfying. The banchans were served in generous amounts. The main dishes were also good, especially the beef bulgogi and chap chae. I liked the two noodle soups — googsu and nemyong. I’d love to grill meats next time at our table — something we decided to skip since we had two little curious kids with us! The prices aren’t outrageous. Reasonable, in fact, considering the quality and the quantity of each dish. We’ll be back for sure. But again, without the kids if there are smokers in the same room.

Daorae has been recommended to me by several different friends that have lived in Korea before or are fans of Korean food. So naturally, when I had my last Korean craving attack, I chose to finally check out the place. I was not disappointed! To enter the restaurant, you have to walk up to the second floor of the strip mall in Desa Sri Hartamas. Once up there, you remove your shoes, and are shown to your table with the grill in the middle. It’s fun because the seating is on the floor with space under the table and grill for your feet to hang. The walls are decorated with signed posters of K-pop stars and other Korean celebrities that have graced the establishment with their presence. The restaurant is kept clean and the staff is quick and deft in turning tables over and attending to patrons’ needs. We went for brisket, pork belly, and chicken for the BBQ and ordered the kim chi jiggae. Their banchan was good with usual staples like kim chi, some greens, beans, bean sprouts, kim chi radish, soup, etc. Although I was not fond of their fruit salad(cut fruit in mayonaise). Overall, the food was delicious!!! And the staff was incredibly attentive. They zip between tables refilling banchan, fulfilling requests, and cooking everyone’s dinner on top of turning tables over and settling new guests. I was very impressed with the service here! I am definitely coming back again or to one of their other outlets! I’m looking forward to ordering their Panjeon and getting my next Korean food fix here.

Daorae has been around for quite some time. They have a few branches of restaurants around the area. It’s a little overpriced for how much they are serving which can be pretty little as for their portions but the quality is there. The beef and the ox tongue is simply delicious. They also have very good marinated beef which is twice as good as their usual beef served normally. Parking can be a little tricky. The service is good as well. You just have to make several turns around the area to find parking. It’s at the second floor by the shop lots with the huge red sign so you can’t miss it.

Daorae is pretty popular and is known for their bbq food. I’ve been to this branch here in hartamas once but it wasn’t my favourite Daorae outlet. Sri Hartamas has many korean and japanese restaurants here but me and my friends decided to have lunch here in daorae. Parking here is definitely a problem, and knowing hartamas; you can rarely find the perfect parking spot. Most people who are frustrated with making rounds to find parking usually just park illegally by the streets. When me and my friends came here, we made at least 5 rounds around the place and finally! we got a decent parking lot. I say decent because we still had to walk a few metres to daorae. So when we walk in daorae, we have to take our shoes off and put it in a cabinet. We get to sit in a traditional korean way and it was really interesting to eat like the korean culture. Cold starter dishes were served first and then followed by our meats that we ordered. Overall, i really liked Daorae and it’s one of those restaurants that i won’t mind having my korean food!
