Suzi’s Corner

Suzi’s Corner is a sort of mish-​mash mamak stall as they serve local mamak food such as roti canal, mee goreng and naan, but they also have other independent stalls operating here selling satay, bubur, lebanese food and the most popular of all: the Steak Hut.
Although there is quite a lot of seating here, it is always full no matter what day of the week so be sure to get here early (they open at 6pm) or else be prepared to wait. Parking is on the premises but the whole ‘lot’ can fit maybe 10 cars so you may have to park outside on the street like a lot of people. There is also a carwash here which takes up some of the parking although some customers just choose to wash their cars and save themselves the hassle of driving around looking for a spot.
I have tried all the stalls here and they are all good, although some fare better than others. While I definitely love the steaks here (and their price tag!), I am a big fan of the Malay bubur stall. I love this Pakcik’s bubur with ikan bilis and shredded chicken, I eat mine with a lot of cili padi and extra ikan bills and it is such a hearty meal. The roti canal is fluffy and garing just the way I like it too. The naan and tandoori were just average in my books and after having it once I never ordered it again. From the lebanese stall I had the chicken wrap and it was quite good too, served with fries and garlic sauce.
Service is good too, and you will be attended to soon after you seat yourself. As an Ampang resident, I come here often especially on days where I can’t make up my mind what I want to eat as Suzi’s has it all!

My friend introduce me to come suzi corner and have a try on because they are quite famous with their rib eyes steak with not much people knowing, suzi corner does not just serve western food but also serving mamak food like roti canai and mee goreng and so on, but I chose to try on their rib eyes steak and request them to cook it medium which is half cook and half raw, so there is a bit red in the meat which makes me almost drool while looking at it. :)
the rib eyes steak they cooked it just nice and despite the environment is not really as ideal you can think of but their food is nice! rm35 is worth paying with this quality!

This is a pretty good value for your money if you don’t go in expecting too much. Over the years it has gained popularity and in my opinion has dipped a little in quality.
The huge bonus of this place is that you can get mamak food and beer in the same place. This is extremely hard to find, in fact, impossible in fact. Off to a good start.
The food is good. I like the satay and the naan breads are all tasty. The Kwue Teow is a bit oily for my taste. In general, the food is pretty good for mamak. Late night munchies are going to be taken care of but it helps to know what to order.
There is also a great steak place with in the same restaurant (they are closed on Tuesday) as well as a Lebanese place. The Lebanese place has good hummus but not much else.

Suzi’s Corner is essentially a mamak run by a Malaysian Indian family, its named after the mum Suzi. This place has the usual mamak affair but with additional stalls and a shisha booth too. Some of the stalls include satay, middle eastern food, porridge, chicken wings and western food.
The western food is the most famous here, and if its a weekend around dinner time the wait can go up to 1 hour just for a plate of fish and chips, chicken chop or a steak. The western food here is indeed the highlight because its super yummy and cheap compared to other western food places.
The steaks are cooked well and fish is very fresh. No powdery texture. Suzi’s corner only opens about 6pm but closes really late like in the wee hours of the morning so its also a great spot for some food after a night out clubbing.

This spot is the place that a lot of people go to after a night of drinking because it’s opened til very late. Located at Ampang, just like the name — it really is right at the corner and at the end of Jalan Ampang before you take a left towards ‘Flamingo’ and ‘Ampang Park’. It’s literally is a corner with a number of hawker stalls parked inside.
Like any typical hawker style restaurants in Malaysia, the types of food they offer is overwhelming, from local dish to western. I remembered trying the ‘Chicken chop’ and the sauce was just perfect. Chicken chop wouldn’t exactly be my first choice when ordering but when I decided to be adventurous and try the one here (because everyone talks about it) I really don’t mind ordering me the same meal again!
Their pastas we’re pretty tasty too. The hawkers parked at Suzi’s corner are the same hawkers that have been there for years so be sure you meet a generation of family hawkers!
