Finally! A place where you can order spicy and not be disappointed by a watered down spice level. I went to Kamakura with a friend to see the Great Buddha. All that walking around made us hungry. That and a long wait at Zushi station. The Conveyor belt style sushi place was jam packed so we decide to check out Sawasdee. We walk in to a nice and spacious restaurant. Nice Thai décor. We were greeted and seated. We ordered Vietnamese spring rolls, chow fun type of noodle, spicy papaya salad, seafood soup, shrimp fried rice & a very spicy green chicken curry. We asked that the papaya salad and curry be very hot. Hot enough to make grown man cry. Spring rolls– nice and fresh. Small in size. Might have two order two next time. Seafood soup– very flavorful. Love the lemon grass flavor and the huge prawns. Shrimp fried rice– was ok. Noodles– like these chow fun noodles Spicy Papaya– at first I was disappointed. Tastes more sweet than spicy. Thought something was wrong so we re-mixed it. the burn was there. . Green chicken curry– very delicious. Really good spice level kick. That coconut milk flavor countered some of the heat. My new favorite Thai spot. A little more expensive than the other area Thai places. Quality gives this place the edge. Enjoy!
