Bushdogs! This was my first time seeing them. Their ears make them look like bears, but they’re dogs! That was the highlight of my trip. I liked the«animals native to Japan» exhibit in the middle. Tanuki was skinnier than I had thought. I guess maybe because I’m used to seeing chubby raccoons of North America. Okapi is on their logo, so they must be a highlight, but they weren’t that interesting… I went in July 2014, and it was HOT. But they had some misty things in the middle valley and in the rest benches, which was nice. There were two playgrounds as you walk through the zoo! Nice for kids who get tired of just looking at stuff. I’m looking forward to going again after the«African Savannah» exhibit opens on April 22, 2015… though adult prices will increase to 800 yen from 600. All-day general parking is 1000 yen. There is no hourly rate. I guess that’s good for not having to hurry to look at the exhibits.
