Antenna America is your beacon of great craft beer from across the pond(Pacific Ocean). Living in California 10 out of the last 17 years this was an awesome find for me. I’ve been enjoying the beers of Stone(Arrogant Bastard!!), Karl Strauss, Green Flash, Ballast Point, and Sierra Nevada for years. When you arrive here look up. Located on the 5th floor. Nice non-smoking atmosphere. Options on indoor or outside seating. Large selection of US microbrews. 8 on tap and many bottles/cans to choose from. Pay as you drink. Went with Lakefront IPA. Smooth and not to bitter. Was a little disappointed that they were out of fish tacos but no worries. Went for the burger and killed it! Got to enjoy a nice Yokohama afternoon on the balcony. Service was great. Workers here were polite and able to answer my questions. I also took some Stone Brewery bottles to go. An easy pick for my American craft brew fix. Hoping for some fish tacos on the next visit.

Since Antenna America’s opening two + years ago, I have seldom drunk beer anywhere else. Quite simply, if you love good beer, there is no other place in the Tokyo/Yokohama area that even comes close. The Japanese craft beer scene is(thankfully) making strides, and I’m happy to support good beer where/whenever possible. But despite Japanese craft breweries’ best efforts, nothing yet compares to the quality, taste and selection of the imports offered at Antenna America. As a mostly-vegetarian, I cannot comment on Antenna America’s food menu — burgers, chicken wings, etc. If necessary, I’m perfectly content munching on their snacks — mix-nuts, popcorn, pretzels, while enjoying the beer that surpasses anything on offer in the Kanto area. If you’re looking for romantic ambiance, an extensive food menu, a smoky dive bar, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a good selection of great beers at reasonable prices, kind and knowledgeable staff, a relaxed atmosphere that attracts both Japanese and expats, pleasant music at a reasonable volume, with Foosball to boot, you cannot do better than Antenna America.

Super casual place. It’s basically an import company’s tasting room. Draft beers and food items are smaller, and therefore priced under 2000yen. A wall of self-service fridges contain wide variety of more pricey bottles. I had the fish tacos(2 for 730yen). Fish quality was so-so. Taco sauce gave it good creamy heat. Washed down with Ballast Point. It was specially priced at 500yen in a ¾ pint plastic cup(…as I said before, super casual!).

The four stars is completely for the beer selection(bottles and draft), rather than the food or atmosphere. They have a huge selection of American micro-brews in bottles and eight or nine taps, usually including a couple IPAs. The fish tacos are pretty good and I hear the oishii burger is good too. When the weather is good, the balcony is nice.(Non-smoking, indoors and out.)
