Vegan options near Disney Sea! We went to Disney Sea and the vegan options were really slim pickins. We were kind of cranky and tired after so much walking and minimal nourishment(the salad at one Disney restaurant which had no mention of meat in the description was filled with pork bits) when we left and were trying to figure out where to take the train to to eat. We saw a board advertising some of the businesses in the shopping area that you walk through to get back to the other trains and on a whim decided to check out the menu for Monsoon. Low and behold Monsoon has an English menu with clearly marked vegan options! It’s so rare in Japan if you’re not at an all-vegan place. I had rolls for appetizers — the kind that’s a rice wrap with lettuce and vegetables inside — I forget the name. There was a lot of lettuce but they were good. For my meal I had a rice salad that came with cuccumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, cilantro, peanuts, and these crispy things that I think were onions. It was very good and just what I needed to replenish. The décor is fun and dramatic, lots of big leaves. Service was okay — I don’t think the servers spoke much English and that may be why they didn’t seem that friendly. Also, it’s a huge restaurant and there were so many tables but the table they sat us at didn’t feel right to me, more like a last resort table, and my husband wanted to face one way and the waiter was trying to insist he face a different direction. It was awkward but I’ll chalk it up to miscommunication on both parts. Monsoon is a great option if you are in mixed dietary company or if you want a lot of space and to have a group. And it’s perfect if you’re vegan and going to or from Tokyo Disney Sea. I believe they also has other locations.

This place has a great ambiance, sorta Thai meets Tiki. The food is delicious! We got appetizers and the portions are very small so considering doubling up. Prices very fair, especially for a tourist area. We got the satay platter, which was was 4 delicious meat sticks in total; The Chinese bun, a delicious warm sort of bread roll; and the spring roll which was so good but very small.

Really cool atmosphere restaurant in the popular IKSPIARI area. Various types of food and drinks. Very great service. I ordered the shrimp toast and the Vietnamese fried rice. Definitely get the shrimp toast! It’s deliciously amazing. The vietnamese fried rice serving was kind of lacking– but I wasn’t looking for a huge meal at the time. You can sit at regular tables– or they also have japanese style where you can sit on the floor. Our group opted for a regular table. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sangria as well. Lots of delicious food and fun was had at Monsoon!
