This is a nice place for beer-geeks. Lots of draught beers. Prices around 1000 for 350 ml. Non-smoking.

Great craft beer bar! I’m not sure as to how the prices for craft beer(both domestic & abroad selections) compare to the rest of Tokyo, but a regular draft pint was averaging from 900 — 1000 yen here. Domestic Sapporo and Yebisu average about for 680 yen. This basement pub is small, and if space would allow, I could imagine a piano in the corner. It has that semi-dim lit vibe. It’s kind of hidden among the big bright lights of the surrounding area, which is located in the big, bright, super commercial hub of Ikebukuro. Lost amongst the sea of eateries, shops, kareoke, and more, Vivo is is the tiny basement pub that you’ll find with the big BEER sign hanging above outside. The beer menu’s are some of the most informative that I’ve come across detailing the following: Name of beer Brewery Country of origin Style of beer Alcohol percentage Bitterness rating Color profile Pricing for regular size and half size pours For an additional 150 yen you can upgrade any beer to a US sized pint or 250 yen to upgrade any beer to a UK sized pint. I only stopped in a for a few pints(which were delicious I might add), so I can’t comment on the food. The craft beer movement in Japan is nowhere as near as big as in the US, so this is nice little oasis where you can throw back some Japanese, American, and European drafts/select bottled options. Selection was excellent and varied enough to piqué my interest in more choices than I could possibly consume.
