When you are out a bit too late Tonchin Ramen thats open until 4am and the noodles/broth are very easy on the stomach. My 2nd adventure to Tonchin and totally forgot about going to the Ikebukuro South Exit branch a few months back but it was open when we needed it. My ramen connoisseur friend suggested trying the regular ramen as it seems to be their specialty but I was somehow persuaded to go with the Tsukemen(Dipping Noodles) by the other members of our group. The tonkotsu broth is very flavorful and packs a punch. The noodles are thin and curly… if this is your last destination after hitting up a few spots then its the perfect non-heavy ramen noodles to close out the evening. If I you are totally sober and not stuffed then I’d give this place a pass… the impact is minimal. A better option Tsukemen option is 100% hands down Vegipota Tsukemen Enji in Ikebukuro: Will I have cravings for Tonchin? Nah… most likely not.
