The best thing about Yayoiken for me is that it was open late… late enough for a 3pm+ lunch. ~Whew~ It’s so hard to find places that are still serving at that time, and after a trip to Kakimori, it was such a relief to find Yayoiken. It’s a vending machine-menu choice, so best not to expect anything too fancy, but the reasonably priced meals will suffice in a pinch. At about ¥1000, my lunch of thinly sliced tuna sashimi on rice, bowl of plain udon, miso soup, and cup of warm tea was welcomed by the rumbly in my tumbly(you know, like Winnie the Pooh?). I wouldn’t exactly go out of my way for this place, but hey, it’ll do.
