Just finished the most incredible meal at Mizuguchi. This is truly an authentic and well executed Japanese style restaurant. There is nothing touristy about this place. Come here to experience the real deal in a charming neighborhood alive with local flavor. I am going to bed tonight full and dreaming of the most delicious miso clam soup I have ever tasted. I need to learn how to make this broth. It’s incredible. I feel like I hadn’t really tasted a proper miso soup until tonight, like my whole life has been a lie. How will my hometown of Phoenix ever make me happy now? How can I go on living without this deliciousness in my life? Why do I love food so much? Also, I must add, the sashimi was the best I’ve had in Tokyo thus far, the fried salmon was perfection, and the ginger pork dish was so good that I think I hogged most of it for myself. Afterwards, I hopefully walked it all off exploring the neighborhood, Asakusa Temple, and stumbling through a mass cherry blossom night picnic by the river. This was probably one of the most perfect nights I’ve ever had.
