I wanted a cute haircut and heard there’s no bad salon in Japan so I took a chance and walked into this shop. I wasn’t sure if they would be able to take me without an appointment but since I walked in during hours where people are typically working, I lucked out and was able to get right in. They presented me with a menu of prices, based on the stylist’s experience. I picked a Director(highest level) stylist since a haircut by that level person was still less than ¥6000, much cheaper than in the States. Hiroshi Kawashima sat me in his seat and I showed him some pictures of what I wanted and he suggested a style that was similar but one that would suit me better. His assistant whisked me away to wash my hair and Hiroshi went to work. 45 minutes later a voila! I love it! My friends shopped at OIOI, which was kitty corner across from the building the salon is in. It’s located on the 4th floor and it’s really easy to spot the sign from the street. If you’re near the Shinjuku Station, go!
