Nice and small and very intimate. You place your order at a ticket machine and then you hand your order to the cook. Service is pretty quick and the place is very small. They seem to have a great take away business. I’ve tried the lamb spinach curry(very good) and the 2 curry and BBQ Thalia(also great and a good bargain). They are opened till 5 am, so if you are looking for a late night place in Shinjuku and your craving Indian, this is the place.

Mr. Siddique strikes again with this delicious, yet tiny shop on Otakibashidori. I used to come here more often as I pass it some nights on my walk home after work or a night drinking in Shinjuku. The place itself is really tiny, so I’ve only ever been on my own, but the guys who work behind the counter have always been really friendly. It’s interesting to ask about their stories and how they ended up in Japan. You know, for that moment of gaijin bonding.(Assuming they’re not busy, that is. Don’t be a jerk. Let them do their jobs.) The set up is like a lot of those gyudon or ramen places where you decide what you want, buy a ticket from the ticket machine outside, and then hand your order to the chef. If you want to get it to go, just let them know when you hand over your ticket. It’s generally really fast, and you can be on your way with your delicious curry and freshly made naan. Eating in is an option, too, but it really is a small place – I think maybe four seats – so if you’re not one for cramped places or eating buddy buddy with unknown neighbors, you may want to get it to go. I generally do, since I’m usually there pretty late at night. But it’s nice to chill inside with the chef sometimes, too. There’s a little bit of heat to the curry, so that’s a huge plus for me. It’s not like the Japanese chains of so-called Indian curry.
