Great Korean bbq located in Shin-Okubo, which is apparently famous for Korean businesses! There are lots of different Korean restaurants in this area and definitely many more sangyeopsal places. This place offered meat sets that were enough for two people, which came complete with vegetables and side dishes. They cooked our meat for us, thick and juicy pieces and the fried chicken we also ordered was marinated perfectly. If you prefer you can also order chicken to go, comparable to Korean style ‘chi-mek’, or chicken and beer. Workers there speak Korean and Japanese! Easy to find and easy to get in, since it’s on the first floor. They don’t accept credit cards, though, so be sure to bring cash.

Legit Korean food. Walked in randomly to this place just looking for a soju spot. The pork belly was so thick and juicy. And they cook it all for you with the Kim chi. The service is very attentive and they speak both Japanese and Korean. So glad to have been able to get my spicy fix especially since Japanese food doesn’t really have that spicy element.

Good Korean restaurant right on Okubo-dori. Has a good selection of everything Korean. Jijgae, BBQ, kimbaps, drinks, … something for everyone. If you went shopping before hand and loaded down with bags, use the alley way lockers(across the street from 1Korean Plaza) to store your bounty. Lots of places along the street for more drinks and/or dessert.
