We’ve checked in & out of this hotel 3 times on our 2wk vacation in Japan. All 3 different check ins were great. The rooms are on the smaller side but it works for my wife & I. It is a studio apartment. There’s a love seat type sofa & a small desk & tv. The rooms are updated so on modern side. Nothing really fancy but nice. Bathroom is a little on the small side but functional. Deep tub for u bathers. The staff here are friendly n they do speak English. They supply your room w/2 bottles of water everyday & also breakfast buffet everyday u stay here(bonus on both)! We stayed at an expensive hotel while in Osaka that costed us double the price of this hotel and they charge u for water and no meals are included. The location of this hotel is right in the middle of Shinjuku so easy to get around & lots to do. I decently recommend this hotel & I would come back here.

this was a very good stay in a moderately(for Tokyo) priced hotel. I kinda wish I could add a half star to the rating because it’s a little better than average but just shy of outstanding. I did a lot of research on TripAdvisor before selecting this hotel and it perfectly matched my expectations. The staff is very accommodating, offering free umbrellas when we went out, knowledgeable about the area, making nice restaurant recommendations and arranging taxis. The rooms were very clean but(of course) small by western standards. the breakfast buffet was very nice. the Shinjuku area is so lively. we loved the location of this hotel because it really felt like it was in the center of all there is to see in Shinjuku. I’d definitely return.

Great customer service. There is a tea basket at the front desk and it’s free. This hotel also close to Shinjuku Gyoen Park. There are lots of places to eat around the area.

A hotel is a hotel to be sure, to be sure. Except that while there’s always the standard features of a hotel, there’s always a few things that make it stand out or ruffle feathers. Thankfully, Citadines Shinjuku is one of those hotels that sits smack-bang in the middle. There’s nothing to put in the cons list and it’s not your 5-star luxury lodgings, either. Located a good 15 min walk from Shinjuku Station(or a 730Y taxi ride), Citadines Shinjuku is pretty well located to take in the surrounding areas. You’re one metro stop away from Harajuku and two from Shibuya. The laneways behind the hotel are well worth a walk through to find local ramen, burger and sushi restaurants for dinner. We stayed here for 3 nights and the rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. Other things worth noting: + There’s free WiFi in each room. + An on-site laundry(200 Y per load and 100Y per 30mins for a dryer) makes clothes caught in the torrential downpour of Typhoon Phanfone happy clothes! You can get laundry liquid from reception, or take a 2 second walk to the 7-Eleven on the corner, and buy a 3-pack of travel liquid for 131Y. It’s cheaper! + Much like many other hotels in Tokyo space is a premium and this hotel is no exception. It’s cosy and compact and really, if you’re in Tokyo you’re out exploring not lazing the day away in your room. It’s ample for 2 people to sleep in each night. If you’re confident in navigating your way around or like to be close enough to the action without being right on top of it then do check this place out.

Of all the hotels we staying during our trip to Japan this one had the largest room for the best price. Which is sort of funny as I don’t really care about the size of the room but for one thing. Being able to unpack a bit. Most places you stay in Japan don’t have much in way of storage space in the room so you are always messing with your bag and such. This is something that doesn’t normally bother me but when you are gone for 3 week it is kind of nice to have a place were you can open things up a bit. I think the reason is this place is seemed like an «extended» stay hotel as our room had a little kitchenette. The room was very comfortable overall. The staff excellent as well. This place is pretty close to the insanity of shinjuku but far enough away to be relaxing. So if you are interested in exploring the areas about Shinjuku but want to be able to retreat to somewhere more relaxing then I would highly recommend staying here.
