My favorite open air café in Shinjuku. Staffs are very friendly. I like when customers leave, the manager always says«Itterasshai». It is a greeting for when you leave from home in Japan. The dishes they serve are pretty good. All of them are reasonable price. I think the most reasonable price you can get at night in Shinjuku café. Recommend to stop by before you explore the town or when you get hungry around midnight.

This place is great. Is a small Bar/café in the middle of Shinjuku Nichome. They have affordable drinks but their food was super surprising. It was really good! And cheap! I had their original burger. Good size, with fries only¥600! My friend had the curry and it was just as good and the same price. If your in the neighbourhood I do strongly recommend it! Enjoy!

Alamas Café ranks among the best cafés of Tokyo and is my favorite place to enjoy a drink with friends. Alamas is located in the gay area of Shinjuku. It stands as one of the pillars of the gay community and, along with Aisotope Lounge, organizes most of the events that take place in Shinjuku Nichōme. They also host a weekly radio show and live dj sets. The atmosphere is really different whether you go on a regular weekday or an event night, but it’s always fun. They frequently have drag queen hostesses as wells as djs. The friendly owner is working everyday, cooking and preparing cocktails behind the counter and she’s always in for a drink! The café has a large variety of cocktails and also offers food. Their menu features both classics such as the Alamas Burger, curry rice, green curry, phở or fried chicken, as well as a monthly selection. The food is always delicious and surprisingly cheap. Alamas Café is my recommendation. It’s not just a gay bar, it’s not just another café restaurant either. It’s a lot of both. If you go there, I’m sure you’ll understand what makes it so special.
