I’d say that Agetsuki is definitely one of the best Tonkatsu places I’ve ever been to in Tokyo. Their pork is super tender, moist and tasteful. It’s cooked that way because they purposely take a long time(20 – 30 minutes) to deep fry at a low temperature just like my favorite Tonkatsu place«Nishimura». You may have no business in the Kagurazaka area if you are just traveling in Japan, but it’s not far from Shinjuku and it’s worth the trip from there, so give it a shot if you like Tonkatsu in general. It’d probably be one of the best Tonkatsu in your entire life(I still think Nishimura and Maruyama Kippei are better). Just make sure to get to the place 10 – 20 minutes before they open. There’s always a line and you don’t want to get in the line simply because you’d surely end up waiting for long(as mentioned above it takes a lot of time to cook their Tonkatsu).
