A famous chain Tonkatsu restaurant — this branch is located at TOC building near Gotanda. Wakko is THE most famous Tonkatsu chain in Japan with hundreds of them spread across all of Japan. They provide you with solid tasting tonkatsu and the best part is all you can eat rice, cabbage, and miso soup. Food options at TOC building stinks. A walk to Gotanda Station area is too far, so if you have things to do at TOC building, you are pretty much stuck with their mediocre options. This is when a chain restaurant comes in handy. You could enjoy a solid lunch here. I would give them more stars, if it wasn’t for how sleepy I became after my last lunch here. How is that Wako’s fault? I am suspecting that there was a load of MSG in the food I ate; hence, it was so tasty. Whenever I intake too much MSG, I become sleepy. I cannot confirm that Ajinomoto was in my miso soup or in my Tonkatsu sauce, so I cannot say for sure. Oh, I almost forgot. The other reason I love this place is because they don’t allow smoking(completely non-smoking). Also, they don’t force you to sit with strangers(aiseki). Many of the TOC restaurants place strangers to sit with you at your table.
