Oreno no yakitori is one of my favorite yakitori places in Tokyo. Not only is the yakitori very inexpensive(50 – 70 yen per stick) yet generous in portion and extremely delicious bin cho charcoal grilled, but the special menu which is a bit of French fusion is incredible. Selections starting at 1,000−1,700 yen include a beef filet stacked with daikon and topped with a large foie gras and drizzled with a balsamic base sauce, and variations of a sizable lobster pasta — my favorite in a salmon egg(ikura) clear sauce with seaweed. The special menu tastes are a delight but be sure to get there and order well before 7pm — afterwards the special menu runs out and the remaining fare is much more pedestrian. Atmosphere is nigiyaka happily noisy and happening with a mostly young mix of hipsters and office workers chilling out after work — most seating is standing and a little crowded but there are a few tables with seats.
