What an amazing night! Dinner cruise on a boat at the Tokyo Bay and the Sumida River for two and a half hours. There are over 35 companies offer this type of dinner cruise around Tokyo, and since this was my first time, I don’t have anything to compare to but I highly recommend this company for a fun night with great dinner and amazing view of Tokyo. The boat departs promptly with 30 other guests. Be sure to arrive early to enjoy the area. They have a nice indoor waiting area but I was out by the docks to take lots of pictures. The cost is approximately $ 110 per person and it includes two and a half hour boat tour, tempura dinner, and all you can drink alcohol. Tempura dinner was excellent. They cook on the boat abs bring one at a time as you get to enjoy freshly cooked tempura. They offer dipping source and three different types of salt. I enjoyed most of my tempura with white salt from a certain area(couldn’t read the kanji)… Sashimi was fresh and several many kinds of appetizers were all good. Once the boat departs Shinagawa, they stop for about 20 mins near the skytree, tallest tower in the area for some picture opportunity. Be sure to bring your camera. I was there for a business dinner, but others were for birthday, anniversary, on a date, family reunion, or just with friends. Everyone is there for fun at night, and with nice atmosphere and a little help of drinks, we all were friendly and all 30 of us on the boat had a great time. I was a bit afraid of getting sick, but the boat was stable and I don’t think anyone became sea sick as far as I could tell. Either you’ve been to Tokyo hundreds time or it is your first time, this yakatabune dinner cruise is a great way to enjoy dinner and sightseeing in Tokyo.
