I’ve always been a fan of St Marc’s «choco cro» pastries, but this isn’t my favorite of their branches. I come to this location probably once a week to tutor a friend over coffee or tea. It’s a popular spot by the station, so it can be difficult to get a seat some weeknight evenings, although the café is fairly spacious by Japanese standards. The entrance is an automated sliding door and opens quite widely, so if you’re sitting by the door it can get quite cold! This is not an ideal place to study if you’re looking for peace and quiet because the drinks machines can sometimes get quite loud, and sometimes the conversations get loud as well. Still, it’s an easily recognizable landmark in a prime location just outside Ebisu Station’s west exit, which is why I think it’s so popular. Make sure to keep that point card they hand out if you come here regularly. It’s double points on rainy days. Enclosed smoking seating area upstairs.
