Hands down the best pizza in Tokyo! Big 500 – 600 yen slices of new york style pizza with real authentic pink lemonade on the drink menu! It’s definitely a place for the young n hip of Tokyo with its minamilist décor and neoseoul/rb/hiphop playlist. Yet it’s not a pretentious hipster zone at all. Often families, tourists young n mature japanese workers are mingled in with the cool kids, making a cool n relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels at ease. Seriously, I luv this place so much! N its staff are friendly awesome n a few that I met are straight up bilingual!

Interior is completely American, from a shocking-pink EXIT sign over the door to an «Employee must wash hands» placard over the hand-washing faucet. You will definitely feel as if you were in a restaurant in the US. Pizza is a bit thinner than that of Rocco’s in Oji. Snacks, cookies and brownies are sold as well. Credit cards are available for payment as Square is installed at the cashier. Staff is friendly. There is a free WiFi inside.

The crust was nice and crispy and the sauce was delicious. I had the jalapeño and the Caramelized onion both were delicious. The jalapeño was spicy and the onions were nice and sweet. Also the garlic knot was very garlicky which I love. The service was also very friendly. Overall very happy I went!

Someone from NY told me about this place. And of course, the glutton that I am, I hit the road and check the place. The pizza is good. You would notice the size right away. The crust was amazing. The topping was lacking a bit. Feels like it’s a 65:35 ratio for crust and toppings. I thought it was«too healthy» for a NY pizza. I was hoping there were more cheese and oil in it. The interior and atmosphere… Amazing! Very chill and welcoming. It’s super good for hanging out especially for big groups.

I am confused. So to preface this review I just got back from Las Vegas New Years Eve where I had a drinking binge topped off with great imitation New York style pizza every night. I also went to college in New York State and routinely go back to New York City for the food. So I tried Slice less than a month after coming back from the states. It was not bad. It was decent compared to what I had. In all honesty, I feel bad trying it so soon from being back from the states. The pizza is New York imitation in Japan at its best. 1. Thin crunchy flat bottom with a thin crust 2. Grease from the melted mozzarella on top 3. Light sauce to not over power The sausage even tasted like NY style sausage. I had a sausage and a Jalapeño slice. They had 2 types of garlic, red pepper, oregano, and other add ins that make you feel like you are in that corner college dive pizza joint you used to love at 3 am. The only problem, it tastes like all the other ones you avoided because it wasn’t as good as your favorite. If I had not gone back to the states, been abandoned in the toxic NY style-less pizza environment of Japan this would have been mana from the gods… But with the fresh memories of legitimacy, I find myself left wanting a little more to make me happy…

This is so far the most authentic pizza place I’ve ever been to in Tokyo. In all honesty, I’m not sure how authentic their pizza would be for you American folks, but I’ve lived in the US for about 3 years and have had tons of slices there, so what I feel about this place shouldn’t be too off from your standard. I found out about this place when I was getting a bit bored with Napoli(Italian) style pizza, and I quickly got addicted to this pizza here. Plain cheese slice only costs 390JPY, which is definitely cheap enough to get a slice of this size at this quality in Tokyo. If you are from the US or a fan of American style pizza, this place must be worth a visit. I personally like it so much!

It’s hard to find authentic American pizza in Tokyo. Lots of delicious pizzas but nothing you would find anywhere else in the world. This eatery creates a nostalgic New York pizza diner with a variety of large pizzas by the slice. I would have liked to see more topping options but overall it was good and not greasy. Love that it’s tucked away by the tracks

Great great pizza. When I miss NY I come here. Closest thing you can get to NY pizza in Tokyo. My recommend would be to go for sausage and a plain slice.

Went in the morning and in the evening and the pizza was great. The lady that took the order spoke perfect English, and everyone else was really friendly. The pizza is thin crust New York style pizza. If you are in Shibuya and want a good slice of pizza check it out.

Had an awesome pie on my last visit to Shibuya. This place seemed to really come alive at night. Great atmosphere too. 5⁄5 would eat again!

The pizza is ok, but the fact I can get pretty legit pie in Shibuya adds a star… If you get tired of your hotel’s(that is you Cerulean Tower) price gouging for insubstantial and overpriced food, take a walk southeast for some solid NYC style food… Pair that with some easy going alternative music and reasonable cocktail prices and you have Pizza Slice. Ok, the Mushroom was the clear winner, excellent quality mushrooms and good coverage… Second place goes to pepperoni, only had about 5 pieces, but good taste… Last was sausage… And for reason… Plenty of coverage but lacked any taste or spice what so ever… Definition of Meh… Avoid. Each slice was 500¥… Not bad for the size of the slices…

Great beers and great pizza. Super chilled, great spot for a night out. The seating arrangement and open style make it a great spot to have an enjoyable night in Tokyo! The pizza variety is good, and pieces are huge! Little bit of America in Tokyo!

Nice to finally have a good pizza-by-the-slice joint in Tokyo. Pepperoni on my pepperoni slice could have been more. That aside, good quality and quantity. Authentic. Will be accompanying my non-functioning metabolism here again soon. Need takeout-boxes for individual slices, though(see photo for what happened when my takeout slice went bagged but unboxed).

Good cheese pizza and garlic knots. It was kind of funny to me to see the«American-style» diner ware, like a coca-cola cup and paper plates, in such a trendy looking shop. But it is a really nice, clean place. If I was just rating the food, it’d probably be 4 – 5 stars, but every time I talked to someone it was kind of difficult. My boyfriend heard online that English was totally accepted(obvious from all the reviews here), so when we ordered, he used English. Unfortunately, the girl barely did. So next time I went up to get a drink I used Japanese, even though it was a different person. They then repeated my Japanese followed by English for every single thing I said. Which is it guys, English or Japanese? Because neither really seemed to be accepted by us. It was also pretty unclear, both orders, if we should go back to our seats and wait, or stand at the counter to be passed our food. We were just told to wait. I guess the mix of typical, trendy Japanese restaurant and ordering American food at the counter got me kind of confused. Again, the pizza was great, but there was some sort of weird disconnect. I guess you see this a lot in Tokyo though.

True $ 1 slices in Shibuya for ¥300. It’s worth the 250% premium for this true taste of NYC in the heart of Tokyo

Good pizza. Nice, spacious, clean and cool atmosphere. You order by-the-piece, which are large(Costco-size), with lots of cheese, but not tons of toppings. We got the jalapeño, and it had probably 4 or 5 slices of jalapeños. We also got a slice of the Caesar salad pizza– which is a very tasty Caesar salad served on top of a slice of cheese pizza. You can’t get the salad by itself, or served on the side(Japanese rules), so just ask for an extra plate and dump it off the pizza and onto your extra plate. Suits me just fine. They also served the green iced tea in a pretty big cup with lots of ice– way more than you usually get here. They also had free wifi, though I didn’t use it. We will definitely go back for more pizza and salad.

Pizza Slice a taste of NYC Pizza in Shibuya/Ebisu/Daikanyama area. Food I’ve been to this place a few times and can say it’s gotten better each time. I’ve tried their plain and pepperoni slices and glad to say it’s a nice reminder of NYC. Slices are a decent size thin crust slightly charred, with a thin layer of sauce and cheese. I personally would prefer a bit more sauce since it seems to get lost somehow. The cheese seems like a combination of mozzarella and maybe Parmesan??? They have garlic powder, red pepper, and oregano on the table to top your slices with. The garlic powder is a very light, flour-y, dusting powder instead of the garlic powder found in pizza places in NYC, that’s closer to resembling grains of salt instead of talcum powder. Service The staff is very friendly and attentive and also speak English for those of us who prefer to deal in English. Overall Glad to see that with«NY style» pizza places like this and also Rocco’s NY Style Pizza in Oji, that the NY «slice» is finally available in the Tokyo area.

Best pizza I’ve had in tokyo in 2 years of being here. Highly recommend but stay away from their anchovy pizza(it’s too salty). This place is cash only with no smoking. Staff was friendly. This is NYC style pizza.

The Pizza Slice offering is simple, but solid: a minimalist approach to toppings, some crunch in the base, and a size New Yorkers would approve of. The cheese slice(380 yen) comes fresh out of the oven, and the cheese to tomato paste ratio is well-balanced. Don’t expect fancier toppings, either: Your only other selections are pepperoni, meatball, and the slice of the day. Hiroki Sarumaru, the owner of Pizza Slice, first encountered pizza through the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but it wasn’t until a trip to New York City that he started questioning, «Why doesn’t Tokyo do by-the-slice?» That trip would give him his first experience with New York pizza culture, and inspire a two-year pilgrimage to the Lower East Side — with hours spent in the kitchens of pizzerias like Champion Pizza, learning the tricks of the trade. With its large black doors, Pizza Slice looks a little like a randomly placed fire station, but the interior — vintage tables and chairs, and a long bar counter — gives off a diner vibe. It’s a spacious, distinctly western design, and it works. Naturally, this is a great place to kick-start a night of drinks and clubbing, or if you’re just craving for a taste of NYC in Tokyo, it likewise fits the bill. And the sign out in the front says it all: «We serve only New York slice pizza. Do not expect any other things from us.»
