I had a chunky beef pie. This place isn’t really a place who’s looking for genuine Australian meat pie. It doesn’t even taste like meat pie or nothing like pie face shops in Australia. It doesn’t taste bad, but it kinda taste like bread filling with curry sauce.

Very cute pies! They had a lot of savory options, and not as many sweet options. I had the clam chowder pie along with the chocolate pie. The clam chowder one was good, and the chocolate one was just okay. They warm up the pies for you so they are fresh, and there’s even a little place to wash your hands inside the shop. It was pretty crowded the day I went, but we were still able to find a table. If you like pie, this place is at least worth a shot!

Pie Face is a cute meat-pie bakery located in Shibuya Modi Department store. You don’t find many meat-pies in Tokyo, but the Aussie-origin mini meatpies seem to be attracting a good amount of female customers with their cute pie-faces. I think whether you will like Pie Face is going to depend on whether you like Meat Pies in general. I’ve never had one before, but I thought the filling and pie-crusts were really well made and delicious! Still, I’m conflicted because when I think of pies, they’re usually desserts. Each pie has a different face, and the variety of flavor is surprisingly wide. Don’t take my 3-stars as a sign of mediocrity, but of preference. That being said, I’m probably going to find myself there again to try it again now that I know what a meat pie is :)

My first time here and I ordered classic beef mince and chunky steak. Now they both were tasty but the amount of filling is rather small and they both had the tandoori flavour. The pastry is flaky/oily and is good similar to Villis in Adelaide. So basically the classic mince and chunky steak taste like a curry pie back in OZ… and there is no pie which tastes like an ordinary meat pie. The amount of filling would be less than half of one in Australia. You need 2 to satisfy you at a minimum. I’m from Adelaide by the way which I think has best pie and bakery shops in Australia. Anyway if management happen to read this post i would suggest least triple the amount of filling 2.more meat in the filling… could not hardly taste or see any in my 2 pies 3.have a real tasting plain mince and chunky steak pie without the tandoori seasoning in it 4.keep the plain mince pie and change name to tandoori meat pie

Fun place to get a quick mini pie, Apple and strawberry cheese are great. They have a lot more savory than sweet options available, if you’re into that kind of thing.
