Great breakfast place. Big windows with a courtyard view that wrap around the dining area, soft lighting and earthy atmosphere. Very clean and professional service and modest noise level. The Elvis Sandwich, grilled bread with peanut butter, bananas and bacon is perfectly balanced. Great smoothies and coffee as well. If I lived nearby, I’d be a regular.

Very stylish and decent place. Service was very professional and accurate. Good choice of various Western dishes with a really comfortable outside patio. Located just in the heart of Daikanyama, perfect to be combined with a little walk to/from Shibuya.

Great place. Went there solo for lunch then brought the husband for dinner a few days later. It’s mostly modern Italian/modern Californian style food. Food was great both times I was there. Has both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a small bar with seating where they serve the full menu. If you’re American, this place will feel very familiar(like an upscale American bistro place), so if you want something more exotic, this isn’t it. It is popular and does fill up, so either come early, at an off time, or call ahead for reservations. I managed to get a seat at the bar for lunch, and I was lucky. We called last minute for dinner and got in, but I wouldn’t want to take the risk of just showing up. Right next door to an awesome bookstore, camera/photo store, and in a neighborhood with a lot of trendy boutiques.

We came plenty early enough for brunch and were turned away, because all the current tables were full. We came far to eat here and its bad business to turn away paying patrons.

Good pasta, salads, sangria and fluffy pancakes. Great environment and atmosphere. Highly recommend. Be prepared to wait on line for a table.

I usually try to stay away form«western» food when I am in Japan but my Japanese friend was really craving it so there we were! The concept of «Brunch» wasn’t that big in Japan, there is a big chain for Japanese brunch called Johnathan but that’s about it. So Ivy Place was one of the very few brunch places in Japan, even Shibuya. Okay enough BS, I had the steaks and eggs. Decent quality but nothing special, not Japanese style but didn’t feel American to me, maybe not greasy enough? And of course the ingredients were Japanese. Coffee was also pretty good with free refill, which was important as the Japanese portion was only like 8oz or something. I would have to order 4 to get enough caffeine for the day! Go try that place if you want your American brunch fix! Located in Daikanyama which has awesome shopping places while waiting for a table or a walk after some food coma!

Ok, if you are in Tokyo and are american and are like«oh man I wonder whats open in the morning for breakfast?» this is the spot for you. I know I know I know, why would you go to an american/euro breakfast joint while in Tokyo. Well, my mom and I were up really early and wanted to grab something to eat. Not really feelin like soup for breakfast and then realizing that most joints don’t open until about 10am(including Urth Café, yes that Urth café is in Tokyo in Shibuya, but didnt open until 10am) so we walked over from where we were staying. This review is only for the breakfast, never did the dinner here. Service: TOPNOTCH, the Japanese people don’t mess around. They are a tight run ship for sure. Friendly when we go there, fast after we ordered and always checkin in on us. One challenge was that there are ONLY japanese people there and they dont really speak english. Thankfully I bought a SIM card for my extra phone and was able to do some google translate for changes. Food: Excellent take on western food. Ordered so much stuff, but the fave was the breakfast sandwich. Pancakes with the crème and fruits was amazing too. Décor: Clean as heck. Nice and very welcoming. Area: Nice as can be. If you are an animal lover there are so much many people that come from the neighborhood with their doggies and just chill in the area. I would say, if you are lookin for a solid breakfast try them out, so worth it!

This is a beautiful Monday noon at Daikanyama, Tokyo. Is there anything better than soaking yourself under the cozy winter sunshine and having lunch at an open space café just next to the most beautiful bookstore at Tokyo? Well, here is my schedule today, have a lunch here first –Ivy Place, then enjoy a whole afternoon at Tsutaya reading. The wooden interior design and the open area with sunshine send me a relaxing atmosphere when steeping in. I ordered the special set and a glass of apple juice. They offer roasted salmon with mushrooms and mashed potato as today’s special. First coming is fresh salad and bread with olive oil. I kind of regretting ordering the apple juice cuz the beverage they offer is a tasty ginger tea. A little bit sour but sweet with the flavor of certain flower. But I have to say that the apple juice is awesome due to its freshness from Nagano, Japan. Okay, as for the main dish, it is truly great! The salmon is roasted perfectly, under the salmon, I surprisingly found the soft mashed potato, not the kind of over soft, but perfectly creamy. All the materials match so well in the plate, and bring me a wonderful lunchtime. Hope you enjoy reading it and try it if u come to Daikanyama.

Thai salad was good, and the day’s special was a pork dish. Took a chance and was happily surprised. TY beers were good too, but you don’t need to go all the way to Daikanyama for those.

Great location, friendly staff, nice interior, but the food is just okay. I’m a sucker for good breakfast food and brunches, and this place sounded like it’ll be my favorite… and I really wish it were. Let’s start with what I loved about Ivy Place: –Interior: big windows, lots of mixed use of wood to give a very comfy café atmosphere, and clean. –Staff: super friendly and their customer service is great. I love that everyone speaks English! –Location: in the heart of Daikanyama. How much more awesome can it get? In the middle of the city, yet very quiet and chill. Love it. …now for the food review… It sounded like their pancake was their number one seller for breakfast but I didn’t feel like pancakes that day so my friend and I ordered the frittata and the hash and we halved it. Again, the food was not bad at all, but nothing to rave over. I think I need to come back to try their pancake or maybe make a reservation for lunch to try their flatbread and do another review. I also ordered the lemongrass lemonade and THIS was very refreshing and delish! Short n’ sweet: –Great location –okay food –friendly staff –nice interior and great atmosphere *it’s worth checking out!

One of the newest entries under the TY Harbor group(same group behind Beacon, TY Harbor Brewery, Cicada, etc), this delightful restaurant is located in Daikanyama, behind a very cool newish Tsutaya. The food is a good mix of Western standards — Veal schnitzel, flat bread pizzas, some pasta, some meat and veggie dishes — and is generally solid if not amazingly awesome. But the atmosphere is unbeatable — the TY Harbor crew have created another amazing dining space. Highly recommended if you find yourself in Daikanyama(though you may have to book in advance, it is very popular).

When this place first opened I was beyond ecstatic — Ty harbor chain, outdoor terrace AND breakfast. The location/venue is superb. Both for its location in daikanyama and because it’s a huge restaurant with terrace seating, rustic indoor seating, casual bar/stool seating and romantic posh seating. A different part of the restaurant depending on your mood. However, I find the food to be less than super. Breakfast is only served early in the morning(can’t make it your weekend brunch location) and the food is only«alright.» Compared to the other Ty harbor restaurants, I think this one slides on taste because of the location. That being said, I see many people enjoying everything from their fluffy pancakes to flatbread pizzas. The fact that you can bring your pet is a nice perk!
