A standing wine bar near Shibuya Station. Wanna get together with people afterwork at a casual bar? A place where no reservation is required. A place where you could go with 2, 3, or more people; without knowing exactly how many would show. A standing bar is a great choice. However, many«tachi-nomi»(standing) bars in Tokyo are super tiny and offer cheap alcoholic beverages. Imagine opening up a can of Happo-shu(fake beer) with co-workers inside Yamanote-line subway car during the rush-hour. Yeah, some of the tachi-nomi places are sort of like that. Here are things I loved about Fujiya Wine Bar: 1. The place was fairly roomy; although it could get pretty crowded. 2. Wine by the glass tasted good. 3. Food was relatively inexpensive; yet quality stuff. I would compare this place with«Oreno»(fill in the blank) series of restaurants. There is Oreno French, Oreno Italian, etc. This chain Izakaya also offers standing bars with quality food at reasonable price. BEER: They do offer two type so beers on tap, but they were both boring kinds(Sapporo Black Label and Yebisu). Craftbeer was available only by bottle. I would focus on glass wine at this place.
