There are so many reasons why I live around Meguro-Shibuya area. One of those is this place. There’s always a party here! No need for a holiday or any special occasion… there’s always a happening. Food and drinks are cheap. And they’re super delicious! And if you need a mariachi to serenade you… there’s one, sometimes 2, if you’re lucky. ;)

This yokocho is a party! Went here on a week day night and it was STILL full of people! I do not know exactly which places I ate at, but one place was basic izakaya finger foods(grilled chicken/veggies/seafood), and another place I went to we grilled our own pork. Beer/High balls are CHEAP here! Only like 400 – 500 yen per glass! Wish my group could have tried more places as there were so many! There was 7 of us and it was hard to find a place to sit down with even 3 – 4 seats since it was just so crowded. Most of the crowd seemed like business men that just got off work, and a lot of younger people going out for drinks/food. There was also a guy going around playing guitar and asking for any requests.

I came here with a group of 8 people. It is basically an alleyway filled with a bunch of restaurants. I ate at one if the bars and had a blast. I got some fries, some oden, umeshu and even some fried chicken kaarage. Get the chicken kaarage!

This place is like a scaled down and slightly friendlier version of what you will find in the Golden Gai alley way bars in Shinjuku. Definitely a cool vibe and a lot of options to choose from. Glad I checked it out.

Probably my favorite place that we got to try during our trip to Japan — it’s definitely challenging to find, but it is packed with restaurants and bars. Most(if not all) of the menus are in Japanese, so I recommend coming here with a hungry stomach and an open mind. We went to the restaurant that had a mushroom specialty(based on all of the pictures on their menu) and it was spectacular. Got a salad with roasted meat on top, salted cucumbers, gyoza… the list goes on and on, but honestly, you don’t really need specific cuisine recommendations here. Just ask them for what they recommend.

This is such a fun place! Whenever i have friends from out of town visit, I will take them here to drink from one shop to another. Ebisu Yokochoan L shaped arcade all filled with izakayas, restaurants and bars. it is always lively and packed with all the cool peeps in Ebisu. If you’re tipsy enough, you can also to Snack Wakeari at the end of the corner and have continue drinking and sing to your heart’s content. The night never ends in Ebisu Yokocho.
