We came to this place right after lunch, hoping to taste their famous soufflé pancake. We had planned to order one pancake to share, only to be told that each person inside the restaurant must order one pancake. One of us had to go outside, and the other two had to order two cakes. We then asked whether we could get a to go box to take home the left over cake, and the answer was«no» again. Very disappointing experience although the pancake is good.

Wanted to try their soufflé pancake. Came with 4 friends and each of us ordered a savory item before the pancakes. The Burger was alright, not the best but the onions inside the burger had lots of flavors. Eggs benedit was pretty good! And egg slut was okay. When the pancakes came, all of us girls were so busy taking pictures of it. It tasted like sponge cakes in pancake form. It was good but nothing super special about it. Overall good food and tasty coffee but nothing on the menu amazed me.

So I’m told that everything is made from scratch once the order goes in so a soufflé, a lovely French toast will take 20−30mins easy. It does sound like they’re determine to give you the freshest plus a lot of love so if you have the time then by all means, try it out. I’m just a little skeptical with the necessity of it since they are competing with eggs ‘n’ things just around the corner. I ordered the eggs benedict and hmmm… I don’t know… No, I know, i just don’t want to trash this place because it really looks like it has a lot of potential. The egg benedict is just not how I want them, it’s my fault, not their’s. Instead of a muffin, they serve their beautiful poached eggs on freshly made scones with bits of walnut in them. the scone was great but maybe I would want it with my eggs and hollandaise separately. The scones with walnuts just doesn’t feel right as the base. I guess I just know exactly what I want when it comes to eggs benedicts. But things are a little different here so if you want to try things a different way than try Burn Side St Café out.
