Popped in when I saw a line and people taking photos of the restaurant. Wonderful noodle bar with a no-meat option(bamboo instead). The noodles are Chinese style and the broth is quite good. The ginger was a great addition. Recommend if you’re in the neighborhood looking for a solid lunch or dinner choice. The 700 yen price for a bowl felt more than fair.

Absolutely one of the best ramen restaurants, if not the very best of all. Let me be honest, if you only know greasy tonkotsu as «ramen», this place may not be for you. They only serve Shoyu-based flavor and actually when I tried this place when I was much younger, I didn’t quite get what people are raving about. I left Japan, and I came back when I was visiting my parents in Tokyo. And wow, they blew my mind. Their soup has such complex flavors that none can really imitate their soup. Their curly noodle is fantastically resilient, and super good. Their chashu doesn’t look anything special in photos, but you have to try it, you’ll be blown away with the flavor they make. Really, pictures don’t do justice for this fantastic ramen shop ATALL. You have to go there if you are shoyu-ramen fan, or even an overall ramen fan. If you are the kind of person who understands the subtle flavors of their shoyu ramen with rich dashi made of chicken bones(and some pork bones, apparently per some fellow researchers of Ichiryu), you will know that their golden colored soup is only for the champions of ramen.
