Excellent location with a deck facing the Kamo River. The wait to the deck is ridiculously long though, despite the fact that studying is not allowed and they have a staff member in charge of managing the wait, and kindly asking customers to leave after some point. Next time I go, I will avoid the wait, and just grab my coffee and directly sit in front of the river on grass.

Best Starbucks to get your Starbucks fix when in Kyoto.
You kind of can’t beat this location. Well lit and comfortable seating with a view of the river. That said, I would grab my drink and take a walk down to the river and hang out on the grass.

I simply love this Starbucks!
This is one of Kyoto Unilocaler’s favorite Starbucks because you can always meet a Unilocaler at there.
So if you want to see friends? Come to have a coffee at there!
Each starbucks in Kyoto has a different taste and this one is my most favorite one.
Also in summer, the starbucks build Kawadoko, a temporary balcony on the Kamogawa river back.
You should wait for a while before you take a seat on Kawadoko but it is worth to wait.
Now it is perfect season for having coffee by the riverside (before starting rainy season). Don’t forget to bring your sunnies!

The Japanese take on Starbucks. Not much different here. All your favorite lattes or just your basic drip coffee. Pretty neat location looking over the river though. Like most places in Kyoto, this Starbucks is very clean. Probably the cleanest you’ve ever seen.
If you’re craving a taste of home and an English menu, this is your spot. They also have the standard baked goods that Starbucks is carrying these days.

Love this Starbucks! I think this is by far the BEST Starbucks in Japan ! One of the reasons, why I highly recommend this place is that, during the summer time in Kyoto, they build KAWADOKO
along the famous Kamo river. If you are seated at outside terrace area, you get to see the beautiful view of Kamoriver as well as people enjoying kawadoko dinner next to Starbucks.
Moreover, if you happen to stop by on weekends after 7PM, you might see people playing music and singing or doing fireworks just right outside of the starbucks.
