Oogaki Shoten Honten

If you live around this area, you should have seen this book store already. Ogaki bookstore. This chain is pretty big (I guess???) in Kyoto and some Hyogo area and this one particular is the headquarter of all, despite the fact that it looks a bit aged.
Well, it has 3 stories in the building and each floor contains specific genres. 1 °F is mainly new arrivals and magazines, maybe some easy read type of stuff. I think it is because this store is right in front of Kitaoji station. 2 °F is mainly for Bunko (small paperbags) and culture books, and 3 °F is for comics and study references.
The store inside is pretty small and narrow so the amount of books are no match for other bigger stores but cozy and «book loving» atmosphere is also there. You can always ask questions and place orders if you have a particular book in your mind. They will bring it to you right away from the shelf or from the other branches if they don’t have it in the store.
