THIS is Osho at its finest. I’m a huge fan of the Kyoto-born Chinese food chain, Gyoza no Osho, and I have not found a better shop than the one at Demachi. Before you enter, you can hear light jazz filtering through the doorway, and you’ll spy lines of salarymen and students with their heads buried in bowls of ramen and rice. Beside the entryway there is a sign in Japanese offering a free meal to any student who washes dishes for half an hour, an offer the shop is well-known for. You might notice the place is a bit grungy, but give it a try before judging. The staff are always the same and are recognizable by their stained aprons and unwavering focus on the food. The meals at this Osho always come out fast, hot, greasy, and delicious. I always go for fried rice, bottled beer, and karage, which is made with white meat chicken. TL;DR Delicious, cheap, fast, a Demachi landmark
