This café is located on the first floor of Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art. It was over three in the afternoon that we arrived here. The café was crowded with many customers savoring sweets. Probably they enjoyed café time after viewing the art works. However, we had late lunch here before entering the exhibition rooms, because I was SOCLUMSY and it took me time to wear Kimono by myself. By the way we were asked by the café staff which seats we wanted to have, inside or outside. It was fine and pleasant if we had lunch on the veranda which faced a creek. But as I was in Kimono and thought I felt warm if we chose the terrace seats, we had inside seats. The young female customers in the next table were also in Kimono clad. I often saw Kimono-clad couples or women strolling in popular areas of Kyoto. If you want to try Kimono, you can borrow one and be dressed and hair-arranged by a professional staff member. The table was small and the isles were a little narrow, so we felt a little uncomfortable. I ordered beef stew lunch and my husband Japanese flavor pasta. The beef stew was prepared very hot(boiling) on an iron ware. I regretted having ordered this menu, because I worried that my tongue or lip would be burnt. Two pieces of bread were appended. It cost approx. 1500 yen. I thought it pricy! I paid more 300 yen or so to order drink plus mini Anmitsu additionally. There was a variety of drink, among which seasonal maple tea or green tea was rare! The taste of stew, bread, and maple tea was good, but Anmitsu was so-so. My husband also additionally ordered a mini cake set. A gâteau chocola came to him, so I also tasted a small portion, which was mildly sweet and awesome!!! Highly beyond my expectation! I recommend you to utilize here only for café time. Lunches in Okazaki area are more expensive than in Shijyo or Sanjyo. After having lunch there, then viewing art works and last having drink and a sweet here. I think it is the best plan!
