Tennoji Zoo

This is a large zoo in Osaka, near Tennoji and Shinimamiya station.
You can access here also from subway Dobutsuen-​mae, in front of zoo, station too.
This zoo was built 1915, so this year is 100 year anniversary.
Entrance fee is 500 yen for adults and 200 yen for children.
Primary school and junior high school students of Osaka city and aged over 65 years old are free to enter.
And there are lions, tigers, giraffe, elephants, and many other animals.
You can also watch koalas and White bears.
In summer time the white bears are presented the big ice cube and the newspaper shows this event.
There are not many people inside so you can enjoy walking around.
After the zoo, you can go Shin-​sekai to have good Osaka gourmet.
天王寺駅、新今宮駅、そしてもちろん動物園前駅からすぐの大きな動物園。
1915年開業とのことで、今年で創立100周年ですね。
入場料は500円、小・中学生は200円。
大阪市内の小・中学生と65歳以上は無料になります。
ということで、お孫さんを連れた方が多いのもうなずけます。
昔は16時を過ぎると子供は無料になってたらしいのですが、今は大阪の小・中学生が無料なので、サービスも向上しています。
動物園に欠かせないライオン、トラ、キリン、象ももちろんいますし、ペンギンや変わった鳥、は虫類にコアラ、ホッキョクグマもいますよ。
ホッキョクグマは夏になると氷をプレゼントされ、それがいつもニュースになります。
いつもそれほど混み合っていないので、のんびり楽しむことができますし、そのあとは新世界で大阪グルメを堪能できますね。
