«I really want pizza for dinner,» he said as we walked back from a day exploring Osaka. Lucky for us I had Unilocal in my back pocket. «This place had two five star reviews and it’s only a few hundred meters away,» I said. Game. Set. Match. After an initial hiccup locating the restaurant(for those playing in future it’s in the Namba City South Building on 1 °F and quite far back in the restaurant alley), we were seated in this quaint Italian restaurant. They’ve created an atmosphere of a home-style eatery. It’s not too far of a stretch to imagine Al Pacino locking away his next Vittoria coffee deal in the corner. It was busy when we arrived and lots of diners were ordering plates of pasta and pizza to share. A good sign! We ordered two pizzas — margarita and funghi — both of which we’re delivered to our table piping hot, fresh from the wood-fired oven. And delicious. The sizes are adequate for 1 pizza per person if you’re super hungry or, as we did, shared between two for maximum flavour combos. These are traditional style pizzas — no greasy slicks on the plate, simple toppings and thin crusts and worked a treat to break the sushi-ramen wormhole we were spiralling into.
