This was quite an interesting find. We were walking around the neighborhood from where we were staying and noticed this bar. Now I will be honest I had heard of Japan’s craft beer scene but never experienced it. Says it’s open late(at least until a 11pm). We walked in here sadly at 10:30 and no was there but the bartender who politely told us they close at 11pm but would like to close early since no one is there. We were asked to order 1 drink each. The menu was a little intimidating. These were all beers I had never heard of, or even knew the brewery of. Only a few breweries from the US but mostly regional breweries from Japan. I ended up with the Shacho No Yoku Nomu from Marukatsu brewing company. It’s a bit sweet and a bit malty but was happy that I was free to order it in any size I wanted. I was responsible and chose an 8oz. This is an overall great looking bar too, and if I read the sign right, I think there was something about a happy hour which was 300 yen per person or 300 yen per beer from like 6pm until 8pm. If I was in the area I would totally check this place out some more. This has a far better selection than the asahi and kirin that is scattered all over.

Great to find a hideaway like this in Japan! Azusa is unlike most bar/restaurant owners here. She has found a niche and made it work. This is a clean, nice western style restaurant. Good food. Good drinks. And everything you’ll need for a good night checklist! Only complaint is that we ordered a cheese plate that had two slices of cheese on it. Literally. Two. Thinly sliced pieces. Don’t get me wrong, it was tasty not 8 dollars for two pieces, tasty… Take the time to find it and you won’t be disappointed with the craft beer selection.
