Grabbed some takoyaki here before our train left — delish! Just ordered the traditional 10 takoyaki variety with the fish flakes, but it totally hit the spot. It wasn’t extraordinarily cheap, but the quality completely made it worth it. If you have a hankering for takoyaki, absolutely come here.

I figured the best place to have takoyaki for the first time would be in Osaka. So when we were in the Shin Osaka station, and saw takoyaki, I knew I had to have some. The line in front of the stall was quite long, at least 15 – 20 people patiently waiting to get their takoyaki fix. They have 3 large takoyaki trays cooking which helped move the line quickly. Once your order is filled, the counter person shows you the box then seals it. Takoyaki is best eaten hot. So we rushed back to our hotel and in no time devoured all 12 takoyaki. It was delicious and still very hot. The outside was soft and the inside deliciously gooey and full of chewy tako. I also liked the bits of shoga(ginger) and negi(green onion). I enjoyed my first takoyaki experience so much that I’m hoping to buy one more box of takoyaki for my train ride back to Tokyo.
