Unlike Doctor Harris in Catch Me with You Can, I concur, I absolutely concur with the other Unilocalers. My ramen experience at Junk Story was absolutely the best ramen I had on my trip between Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. There were five of us in the party and we filled up the entire bar. Two of us had the signature chicken ramen, one with tsukemen, and the others have the pork ramen because they feared the raw chicken. Well, there’s nothing to fear about, the chicken slices on the ramen are served raw in the center, but the key is take your food pic quickly and then submerge the chicken into the hot broth, and it will be cooked to perfection. I think the chef has this precisely calculated, and the result is one of the most flavorful and tender piece of chicken you will ever taste. The broth was clear and reminds me of the Kizo Shio beef tongue ramen, at the same time it is unique as you can taste the perfect mixture of chicken and the refreshing yuzu. The tsukemen and the pork ramen were also delicious according to my family and appear to be a popular items by the locals as well. I wish I could have tried all of them all at once. By the time we left, there was already a long line waiting outside for lunch. We did take some of the Junk Story instant noodle bowls home. Hopefully they will be just as good.

My absolute favourite clear chicken broth ramen throughout all my travels in Japan! Be prepared to wait in line here, don’t worry the line up goes pretty quickly and it’s worth the wait. Because of this place, I’m always on the search for the next best chicken ramen. I’ve found some good ones but this place had at the bar. Everything is perfectly cooked from the broth, noodles, chicken, egg. The presentation is as good as it tastes.

This is where you’ll find the best ramen in the world. I would(and probably will) travel across the world to eat here. A small restaurant where you walk in eat and walk out as there is sure to be people waiting. An Osakan secret I’m exposing. Go here now!

Our favorite ramen place in Japan! We saw a line during lunchtime as we left the Sheraton Osaka Hotel so we figured that it had to be good. We waited over 30 minutes in line. This place is not in the Dotonburi area, so you would need to walk or take a train to get here. Place is tiny as it holds about 10 people. As we waited in line, one of the servers took our order. You can choose the quantity of noodles that you would like. Food was delicious. My husband ordered the chicken shio ramen with karaage. He typically doesn’t like chicken in noodles, but he enjoyed it very much. Soup had a yuzu flavor. I ordered the shoyu ramen with thicker noodles. The broth was not too salty and had lots of garlic. Spent $ 15USD for both items. Cash only place.
