Inviting, comfortable and quaint this wooden house is home to a wonderful soba restaurant. English menus are available and is broken up into two sections representing the two types of soba; the lighter hosogiri and the darker arabaki. Apparently there are side dish options but I did not see them offered on the English menu. But soba is the star here so I opted for the hot arabaki soba over the cold on this particular windy day. The hot duck soba to be more precise and how wonderful and rich the broth was! It only enhanced the subtle flavors of the textural gratifying soba noodles. After you are done with your noodles, a pot of hot water in which the soba noodles were cooked in is brought to your table so that you may add it to your dipping broth and enjoy it as a soup. A wonderful Michelin star lunch all for ~$ 12! The quality, service and price is hard to beat until you realize this is just one of the many great dining places in Osaka. That being said, Ayamedo would a great choice if you are in the area, an enjoyable value.
