In a town with very few options this gem of a Yakitori shop is a savior but not only is the chicken great but the husband and wife owners create such a warm welcoming atmosphere. My pilot friend who comes to Japan every other month always wants to hit up Torigaya is the sleepy residential town of Nerima-Kasugacho. The yakitori sticks are much chunkier than other locations and everything just feels as if the chef really took special care in the preparation. The wife is as sweet as can be… always smiles and they get along so well. We found out that he actually was in a different career and after retirement he opened up this spot. Anyways if you are at a loss for options in Nerima-Kasugacho then definitely hit up Torigaya.
